Paxum is the WORST!

I had a client send me money to an old Paxum account that I'd set up a few years ago. I used my Drivers License as ID there and it expired last year and I renewed it.

Paxum has very weird rules. To approve my checking account for me to withdraw my funds to they want a picture of me holding my Drivers License. Of course I uploaded a copy of my drivers license by itself to verify that I was still me. Had to do that numerous times as well...they kept telling me that it was cropped, which it was not.

I have had to upload numerous pictures and they have yet to approve my checking account. They have held my money for over a month now. They say that their turn around time is 72 hours which is a total fantasy on their part. The funny thing is that the ID that I am holding up is readable to me, and is obviously the same one that they approved, AND there is no way in hell that my bank would require them to show a picture of me holding my ID in order for them to DEPOSIT money into my account.

Whatever moron thought up these rules at Paxum should be tarred and feathered.

If I ever get my money out of there I will never use them again.

Ok, venting over.

Anyone else have such experiences with these inept people?

signupdamnit 07-06-2012 11:11 AM

Yeah there's no way I am going through all that bullshit. I even see some sponsors now who want you to send them you DL or passport if you choose Paxum. There's no way I'm going through all this. And I'mm supposed to pay for the privilege too? I have Paypal and it works fine. Besides that I will take an ACH or a paper check.

I've had my Paypal account for a decade and not once have they even asked me to send them my driver's license. If they can do this then why can't Paxum?

spazlabz 07-06-2012 11:12 AM

I am pretty sure that the rules Paxum follows are not thought up by them but rather imposed on them with banking laws and regulations. Paxum might not be perfect, nothing is but its still the best option out there for receiving payments quickly and easily...that is just my opinion of course and its very easy to get frustrated when there is money involved but even with the hoops they put up I love their support and love getting paid through them.

Fat Panda 07-06-2012 11:13 AM

its shocking to me people still use online pseudo banks after the epass meltdown

DarkJedi 07-06-2012 11:14 AM

Tried to add a credit card to my account yesterday to ADD FUNDS TO PAXUM.

Assholes made me jump through hoops because I signed the paperwork with a black ink pen, instead of a blue pen.

In the US though there is ACH which is typically free and the money is usually in the account the next day. Then there is Paypal which as I said has never even asked me for a DL scan. Paxum should talk to their parent bank and see about relaxing some of the restrictions in certain countries and using other methods.

Their current methods are not regular or customary in certain countries like the United States. I can get a bank account here with less documentation than what Paxum wants. I can also deal with the government too without having to submit half of what they require.

Don't treat me as if I am in the Ukraine and new to the industry.

many of us don't have a choice if we are going to work in this biz. The bank I have been using for many years (1 of 2 in my town) does not have a SWIFT Code.... as shocking as that may be it is the truth. as for paper checks I had one sent to me a little over a year ago. The money came from Europe and was issued/printed from the New Jersey branch of the RBS...

My bank took one look at it and called it a scam check and would not touch it, not even check cashing places would accept it because it 'looked funny'... yeah I need to move to civilization but until then the best way for me to get paid is by Paxum. I just the funds on the day it goes into my account.

I would love to get ACH but since for the last 7 years I have been working with companies located in the EU I cant get it. I have talked to my bank several times about getting a SWIFT Code and they just kind of cock their head at me like a dog hearing a whistle... I swear their ears move up

Try Epassporte, I hear they are good.

DaCaptain 07-06-2012 12:26 PM

I've been doing business on the net for over 16 years and have never come across anything as bad as Paxum. Paypal has never caused a problem. I do agree that no one should keep substantial amounts of money in such accounts. Epass is a good example as to why not to. But, for cheaply transferring money between countries and such Paypal is much better. I use Payoneer and they are even better, but not as good as Paypal. I prefer checks or direct deposits to my account but some folks take too long on the checks and aren't set up to do direct deposits.

Wire Transfers

DaCaptain 07-06-2012 12:40 PM

It is nice that Ruth watches this board and tried to help. We spoke but unfortunately, there is nothing that she can do at this point. I just have to wait.

Apparently they finally approved my account and now I have to wait for them to withdraw some money from my checking account to prove to them that I do indeed have access to this checking account that I want them to take MY money out of MY Paxum account and put it into.

Just be warned, if you open a new account with Paxum be prepared to be very frustrated, put up with ridiculous rules, have them not explain properly what they need and then turn you down repeatedly. Have each communication with them take about a week...their 72 hours is total bullshit.

At this point, I would actually turn a new client down and not work with them if the only way that they could pay is with Paxum.

DaCaptain 07-06-2012 12:42 PM

Wire transfers... well Paxum already has my money and they charge $50 to wire it. I'd imagine the way that they move, it would take 5 to 7 business days for me to get the wire in. Of course, it would probably take them 2 additional weeks to approve the wire transfer process.

Wires typically take 2-3 business days to arrive to your bank account. You can add your bank account details and use that for wire withdrawal without any need for further verification of the bank account.

If you were to initiate a wire transfer withdrawal today you would receive it next week. :thumbsup

Ya I gave up on Paxum awhile ago. It was just to much hassle and crap. Same problems as you. You turn over what they ask but this problem or that problem arises. It's just retarded. Not worth my time when I can just use Paypal or Redpass without all these hassles and crap. Thanks but no thanks Paxum. I'll take my money elsewhere.

I apologize for not addressing this earlier. While this may seem like a silly rule; using a blue pen to sign rather than a black pen, there is a valid reason we have this requirement in place, since this helps protect against forgeries.

Color printers? Blue stamp pads? Easy peasy.

When I had the need for an assistant they had my signature in both gif and a stamp with a blue stamp pad for sending letters on my behalf. Had both made by taking a picture of my black signature and for the image just changed it to blue in PS so the letter looked more personal.

marlboroack 07-06-2012 04:58 PM

I have had pussy worse than Paxum money transfer.

I heard it's impossible to forge a signature with a green pen, you should have them use green.:2 cents:

Alexa of 6.2 million on that site in your sig.

I'll stick with Paxum even though I do not agree with a lot of their policies and have been a frustrated customer myself a few times.

bigluv 07-06-2012 09:11 PM

Paypal can be as bad or worse once you get caught up in their bureaucracy machine. I made some changes to my account one time and because of that, a month later they started denying my transactions to pay employees. No one at paypal could tell me why ("security reasons") or how to fix it. Eventually I figured out that I had to put back what I had changed, and problem resolved itself. It was a terrible experience, and I have contempt for every third world dirt foot that works anywhere online ever since. Paxum from what I can tell hires the same quality of support.

It's too bad they seem to be fucking up their customer service so bad, because otherwise I like them a lot better than payoneer for fees anyways. Of course I will never move or keep serious money there just based on their shitty systems though.

OMG. I thought he was just joking about that.

Pink Misfit 07-06-2012 11:24 PM

I have two paxum accounts and really the only complaint I have is the monthly withdraw limits. I have went over my 10k withdraw limit so we got a second account so that solved the problem.

I hate PayPal!

signupdamnit 07-06-2012 11:40 PM

I remember when Paxum was basically using a PO Box and refusing to share their street address. Now they are requiring blue ink. :upsidedow
