A guy that lives down the street from me blew up his car with fireworks
 

I wasn't home to hear the explosion, but I saw the charred up car. I went to a friends for some food and to watch our local fireworks display. While there I get a call from another friend of mine who is a cop in my town and was working tonight. He tells me that a guy a couple of blocks down from my house decided it would be cool to put an M80 firecracker in a three gallon gas can that was full of gas. It was redneck logic at its best.

Apparently the explosion launched burning gas about 15 feet in all directions like napalm. He got lucky and didn't hit any people or houses, but his car got a heavy dose of it and caught fire. The car went up pretty quickly. By the time the fire trucks got there the car was gone.

What an idiot.

When I heard about it the first thing that went through my head was a joke I once heard:

Q: "What was the last thing the redneck said before he died?"

A: "Is the camera rolling?"

Good thing it was his car.

Yeah, he could get a lot of views if there is a video. I don't know for sure if there is or not. There are several houses right by his, so maybe someone caught it on video. I guess we will have to wait and see.
