I've had many. You're so sedated that it is not uncomfortable at all. It's actually pretty cool if they keep you awake and sedated.

The prep. Now the prep fucking sucks!

Your stomach also hurts afterwards because they pump a ton of air into you.

Yes and when that rumble comes you have about 8 seconds to get your ass over the toilet. You will live next to the toilet for 4 to 8 hours. There will be nothing left inside of you when the prep is done.

Its when you need a cystoscopy - That's the killer - I used to assist doing them and I can tell you I have seen the butchest guys reduced to screaming little girls.....

Compared to having that camera / scope shoved into your bladder by going down through the eye of you prick, its a breeze. Had both recently and i would opt for the colonoscopy every time. The drugs they give you are amazing, sadly they would not give me a doggy bag ? The crapping is not so bad. I found that going without food for 24 hours was a killer.

The procedure is nothing. The prep sucks. Only clear fluids, chicken broth, water, gatorade etc.. for 24 hours. Chicken broth will seem the best thing ever.

You drink a gallon of water laced with super explosive intestine powder and it cleans you out. That part sucks. You drink it and more water, chicken broth, gatorade and it just keeps going forever.

The best part is when you get to the Doctors office and they put the probes on you and everytime a hot nurse walks in your heartbeat climbs all while your trying not to shit your self again.

Just kidding. Good times;)

Preparation is the worst part. I don't know if they still use that Phosphasoda crap, but that stuff tastes so bad it'll bring you to your knees. My wife had a nice laugh watching me trying to drink that shit.

The worst part is the prep

If you drink phospho soda thing make sure you drink loads of liquid along, don't skimp on the liquid at all or it can damage your kidneys. It also tastes nasty. I made the mistake of taking phospho soda along with apple juice and it ruined Apple juice for me for like 2-3 years. Yucky stuff. Though I think nowadays you can choose pills that give you the shits instead of phospho soda if your doctor gives you that option, take it :)

Other than that they'll knock you out with anesthesia and you won't feel anything. I had an out of body experience and was pissed off they woke me up other than that my ass was just fine, unlike endoscopy where my throat was sore for days :)

so how much is colonoscopy in USA if you go to private doctor, without med insurance ?

In my country its around 200 usd in total........:1orglaugh: :-)

It's a 10 if you ask not to be put out!. If you get put out it's a 2. The prep work the night before is a solid 8 though.

Prep was pretty awful, I am pretty sure I shit some things that I ate in 1972.

The actual procedure was a cake walk.

My exact thoughts. the doctors pump you full of drugs that there is no discomfort during the procedure at all.

I haven't had one but my friends husband did. He wasn't happy the day before but when we were able to get him out he was starving. They knocked him out at the hospital so as he was waking up all he wanted to talk about was food it was funny as hell wish I had my smart phone back then.
