This is why conversion ratios have gone to hell... Here's how with File lockers

Conversions are down, people don't want to pay much anymore for a scene. For many the only way to be a valid producer anymore is to pay rock bottom prices and be your own male talent, Lots because of the factors below. This can be won because unlike tubes, the abuse isn't unique to our industry. Mainstream suffers significantly to this. A porn scene is hundreds to thousands, an episode of Mad men costs $2-3 million to produce.

This is just one short piece for me to write about (one of many to come) to help grease the wheels of awareness in this fight.
It all starts with copying links into clipboard which jdownloader then pulls into the linkchecker. Jdownloader is a program that is built in java which means it can run on any machine with a java virtual machine. Allowing everyone to commit this abuse.

Jdownloader makes money by having people buy premium memberships through their application, small amount but so many users I'm sure they make something.

Tubes no doubt take away from sales but how about bulk downloads of paysite content? Forget that producers put anywhere from $300-2000 or more into a scene or time. With a premium membership, in this case netload.in, you can get all that with ease.

First select and copy your links:

http://cuevids.com/images/shBiS.png

Now find what sites you want, well it's so cheap just get everything that you possibly can and then just sort through it when it's downloaded. Jdownloader will check all the links for you to see if their valid for download rather than clicking them yourself.

Here are some site screen that I queued for this demonstration, these entire sites ready to be archived on anyones personal drive once downloaded

Before you start downloading, make sure you subscribe to a premium account using paypal. This kickback to the filelocker permits you to get download all of the content these producers made at small fraction of the cost and much more conveniently. Plus, they won't see a damn dime of it! They're all pornographers right? Who cares if they get paid.
Also, notice that you can pay discreetly with paypal.

Within a short span of 5 minutes I was able to get over 1000 scenes queued for download. These scenes were relatively small, it's easy to get 1-2 terabytes queued in your jdownloader manager.

...and there you have it!

Hopefully this wises some of you up a bit. To reiterate, I make this post to show just how bad and easy these file lockers make it to ruin any value to making any intellectual property. It's corrupted many of you on here! It's nice as a consumer but it ultimately destroys everything in the long run.
The sheer amount of everything that can be downloaded is what does so much damage.
You can't flat out extinguish piracy but knocking out funding for file lockers and preventing services that exclusively profit off of illegal IP has to happen. P2P can be tracked and instills fears into downloaders from lawsuits, not so much with the filelockers as it is much safer. The bueracracy provided by the host being in another country and many other factors causes this.
Don't give me any of the producing of fetish content or live show bullshit to make ends meet. Make a stand now, AdultKing is competent and is looking at this fight long term. He seems to be the only one publicly on this entire board or anywhere with enough gumption to see this to the end.

Reminds me of a webmaster that I know that says his traffic converts around 1:20 or so. Then I say "Yeah but that's because you have hardly any inbound links and the people you get are the ones that are so hellbent on signing up that they're willing to type in the entire and very long url, which means they are probably going to sign up if they make that effort.

Yeah, I get crazy conversions like that too with small trickles of traffic. Interesting how that works...

p2p, torrents, filelockers. They all allowed multiple downloads like this.

Same game different day, just more people getting into it.

What do you care. Freeones....
People make stuff and give it to you. You've built a shitload of traffic doing this and if you have as much
traffic as you do it blankets and cushions any shortcomings.

Not to undermine you or belittle your talent, but can't you show some support at least?

Interesting article, thanks JLP. Although it reveals nothing new, but it clearly shows the scale of the problem and can be later used for projects such as AdultKing is doing currently.

shimmy2 06-30-2012 06:58 AM

most of my scenes are 3-7gb each, i started doing this 4 years ago to discourage torrenting... and it worked. Most people are NOT going to devote that kind of time to getting a movie when there are 200mb alternatives. I have only a handful of my stuff leaked to piratebay but its too much trouble and filesize too big for most nonmembers to waste their time with. just my method

Paul Markham 07-02-2012 01:56 PM

Porn is a small industry and now a lot smaller. The big industries will use lobbyists to bring this loss of income and taxes to an end.

nothing new, I have been saying this for long time, when people were blaming the tubes I said that the real problem was all the forums like pornbb, extreme-board, etc with links to the file lockers.

NOBODY wanted to listen... here we are now. It's WAY TOO LATE now...

this :2 cents::2 cents:

+

for everyone else : if you think file lockers are shitty what about if the very sponsors you push on your sites and blow on the boards are actually running file lockers themselves ?

what then ?

So the P2P freetard surfers are not willing to download large files, but paying members are?

I'm not sure I follow that.

What then? I don't know. Kind of an odd situation. I'd hope they would have more respect for everyone's profits.

Big industries like movies, music and software?

Yeah, worked really well for them...

If producers dont protect their product, this is the result.

How should it be done?

Well, for large industries like movies and music, they could do a much better job of keeping their product locked up before hitting the shelves. Any time something is "leaked" it has to have originated from the company making the product.

There's no reason I should be able to download a 1080p Bluray version of a movie 2 months before the DVD release.

They could start by fixing things on their end first, but they haven't bothered. Easier to sue people than admit something is fucked and fix it.

They haven't bothered? Not quite! The amount of marketing that goes into a movie runs easily into millions and millions, but if the movie isn't that well received by the testers (where you would get your prior release versions) then they would save some of that marketing cash. There are also the awards consideration versions, which is why a movie would hit the screens with awards attached already.

There's a lot more to something than just "if you build it, they will come". Just ask Paul Markham!

Got any better ideas?

Candyflip has the silliest post award.

They do their utmost to stop people robbing banks and do you know what happens?

My 10 year old has more logic than most here.
