CCBill Appreciation Thread

There are lots of great things about CCBill which don't get said enough, we've seen many companies go bust, some have not payed us, but every week our CCBill Checks/Wires arrive like clockwork. Nobody is perfect, but we should be grateful for what CCBill bring to our industry.

Please post more positive comments here, let's remind them that we appreciate what they're doing for us. (save anything else for another thread)

Thanks for the checks CCBill :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

I am very grateful to them. I do see a need for some changes but I am grateful.

biskoppen 06-26-2012 05:39 AM

I've been using CCBILL since 2003 or so and..

1 - I love their payments which has been on time every single week as long as I remember.

2 - They definitely need to listen more to their actual users instead to their so-called UI experts.

3 - Their support is top notch, even though they have a tendency to use the "Nothing wrong in our end" answer a little too much. But their live chat, which I use very often, is amazing.. very talented people.. specially Charles has been helping me out a lot.

4 - The fact that their stats doesn't work in Firefox and other browsers than IE is not acceptable.. any good web-developer makes their shit work in all browsers.

bean-aid 06-26-2012 05:46 AM

CCbill, out of the blue, reached out and created a custom join form for us. Since implementing the form, sales have increased. Ty

Snap, we too have been with them since 03 and i'd agree with all those points. I'd like them to move with the times also a little more, outdated forms, admin speed to name 2

Everyone is quick jump on the bandwagon and kick someone when they are down, yet no one takes into consideration that they have been around for fifteen years. I have no idea how many sites are under the CCbill system, but it's an impossible task trying to patrol them all.

I too see a need for huge changes.

I only use CCbill for my outgoing traffic. The reason for this is because of a rather distasteful experience I had with them as a party sponsor a number of years ago at the Phx Forum.

I don't hate them, but I also think it's telling of the state of our industry that CCbill is getting props for:

#1 paying on time - You should pay people their money on time

and #2 not processing for a service that essentially sells CP.

On #2 they should have stopped processing for services that are selling stolen content whether or not the content is illegal in its own regard.

CCbill is one of the most powerful companies in the industry and could wield that power against many of the threats that this industry has faced. And while I wouldn't' say they have stood on the sidelines, I also wouldn't say they have been the leaders they could be and should be in protecting that model that made them who they are.

The "working" model is simple, there are legit players - (content producers, models, traffic providers, content delivery networks, service providers and surfers) and illegitimate players - (Patent trolls, TLD trolls, bogus service providers, content thieves and scammers (either people who scam from webmasters or surfers)

That list probably isn't exhaustive

I can think of many companies who in EVERY case align themselves with the legit players and do everything possible to protect the working model that we all strive for.

I do.

I am not saying CCbill is in cahoots with anyone in particular or anyone at all, or that not protecting that working model is part of a well thought out plan on their part.

What I am saying is that I am not sure if they do everything that they can to protect the working model.

They could and should do more. Paying on time is great and the file locker shut downs were a great step, but those things should have happened as a part of doing acceptable business.

What's next?

Boobies for CCbill!

I've used CCBill since 1999. My trust is fading, though.

Great idea for a thread Pete!

CCBill does a bang up job, I switched to CCBill just before iBill took a nosedive, what a move, CCBill saved my business.

Not many people remember that CCBill used to be the "little" processing company. They became top in their field because all the others went out of business and took our money with them!

I'm glad Ron has a jet the man deserves it!

It's always easy to criticize the guy on top. "They don't do this...", or "....could have done that."

We should be reminded that without CCBill we all might have taken different paths.

Thanks for the on time every time checks and wires CCBill!

Tofu 06-26-2012 11:48 PM

I still want my money from Ibill.

Far-L 06-27-2012 12:20 AM

No way, sorry, but I am not going to jump up and yay rah fucking rah CCbill.

Listen they were processing for CHILD PORN. Do you understand? And anyone that has been around long enough knows they got away with processing it before along with bestiality as well and only stopped when pressured to do so, just like now.

Sure they have a fiscal responsibility to do what they do and do it just as transparently and ethically as any banking or merchant processing institution would. That is par for the course, not above and beyond the call of duty.

Going above and beyond the call of duty would have meant being more vigorous about protecting children and less concerned about the bottom line. imo.

I wouldn't use them if it weren't for some webmasters demanding that we do offer them, less profitable for us and our affiliates at the end of the day too.

Sorry, but you all just don't seem to be noticing that the Emperor is not wearing any clothes...

CaptainWolfy 06-27-2012 12:25 AM

still getting checks from them all the time ;)

marlboroack 06-27-2012 01:05 AM

CCbill should send me a tee-shirt.

I love this shite...

I used to talk bad about them and everyone and their mother came to support... now a different story.

Just very *unusual* is the term i'm going to use.

They stopped processing, my sales have increased as a direct result, an indirect result, or just an anomaly.

I don't fucking care... they actually emailed us with a join form that did not suck. We took them up on it. Yes, they were so in the wrong but when has this industry not put the dark side... *aside* and carry on?

SpeedoDave 06-27-2012 02:17 AM

I got burned when Globill collapsed and by Verotel.

Been with CCBill since 05, never a late payment, I like the App they have, their forms are better than Epochs (who takes an extra week to pay) and I can get 'scheduled' rebills which is handy.

I've had almost all of my sponsors go out of business over the past few years, and they simply took the money and ran from recurring payments and what cash they could get away with...

Checks keep coming from CCBill sponsors :thumbsup

That sucks. I wish someone would start a list of companies outside of CCbill that have solid reputations. A scoring system based on time in the business, customer service to webmasters, timely payments. Etc etc.

We have been around 10 years and always pay everyone on time. We had the shaving module of our program removed and publicly stated by Mansion at the time as removed and treat our surfers and webmasters right. But why would you believe that?

No reason to really. Tough situation.

Yanks is a very solid program and thanks Todd for being a NETbilling merchant for so many years! Happy Thanksgiving.
