Anyone own a Pontiac Solstice?

My wife is thinking about getting one.
It's a 2007 with 38,000 miles on it.

Anyone know anything about them?
Reviews I've read aren't bad.

My father just bought one this past weekend. GXP model.

Maybe I should mention that my Dad bought one, but my Mom is the one driving it :winkwink:

I drove the one she's looking at today.
It's pretty fast and would be fun to drive but I'm 6'2" and 240 lbs. I felt like a fucking sardine in that thing.

We own a Mini Cooper. I'm not in a position to complain about space either :winkwink:

Lay off the cheeseburgers. I suggest a diet rich in whole grains, fruits and vegetables.

Lensman had one.

I *LOVE* those cars...!

... but I am too tall to fit in them comfortably! :(

Everytime I see one I like to check it out. The styling is really cool. I rented one on a trip last year and was really excited to drive it. When I did it was fun, fast and handled well, but became uncomfortable for me because I could not stretch my legs. (I am 6'3"). With the drivers seat all the way back, it cannot recline as far as I want either which made it worse for me.

If your wife is shorter than me, she should be ok. Tell her to take it for a LONG test drive first to make sure the car fits her the way she wants it to before buying.

Good luck!

my friend drives one. I hate her car. Too hard to get in and out of etc.

It's a cheap knock off of the Honda S2000. Buy a real car!

Barefootsies 06-20-2012 02:59 PM

My GF's dad bought one last year, and I think he's in love with it. I guess after some 40 years married to the same woman, he needed a new love. LOL. Anyway, he has had no complaints, and shows it off to everyone. It's a bit tight for someone 6' as the seats can only go back so far. Beyond that, seemed to drive or ride fine.

:2 cents:

Car and Drive gave that car a pretty good review. I would find the link but im too lazy.

Store it

Put it in the garage for a few years. Then rent it out as a background prop car in movies.

Mr Pheer 06-20-2012 05:49 PM

Didnt that lightspeed dick buy one?

That's what I told the wife.
Put a cover on it and stick it in a storage locker and get it out on sunny Sunday afternoons only.
Might be worth something some day.

Years ago a guy about a mile form me won a red Lamborghini in a national contest from a car audio company. Car was worth 5X his house. Only saw that car out on perfect Sundays. Don't know if he ever let loose. But never saw him over the 30mph.
