How do I get music off of my iPhone?

I have several audio books on my iPhone, they were originally transferred from my computer. My computer crashed, I lost the originals. I would now like to pull these files off of my iPhone and back onto my computer.

How do I do this?

I tried Google, and the jest was: you can't.

Move them from itunes and manually rename them to songsname.mp3 if i recall correctly. Something like that worked for me and i was able to burn them to cds.

Sly 06-16-2012 07:46 PM

But how do I move them?

Tijuana_Tom 06-16-2012 07:49 PM

You will need an app to do this. It's been a while since i've done this for a girlfriend or friend. (I support android.)

Will any of these work for you?

thats why apple sucks, that itunes shit is useless

Tijuana_Tom 06-16-2012 10:33 PM

Well somethings about Apple and iTunes suck but it's not really a big deal considering their is work-arounds for this stuff.

Apple was forced to take a very aggressive stance on piracy.

Wow. Copy-paste if it were any other device on the planet.

Right nobody is forcing you to use Apple products. There is trade-offs and Apple was forced to make certain restrictions on their players because of the government.

I'm sure the fact they sell MP3s doesn't help either...

Hi Sly, this software worked for me:
http://www.copytrans.net/

I totally forgot to make a backup of my itunes library before formatting my machine a couple of times and this software came to my rescue.

HTH

I want an iPad so badly, but I don't want to get wrapped up in Mac bullshit like this....

I wonder if diehard Apple people realize how they're imprisoned in that silly Mac ecosystem.

MaDalton 06-17-2012 04:18 AM

the first and main reason why i will never have an iphone or ipad => itunes

any Android device behaves like an external usb drive

Bullshit. Buy an Android device and you don't have to worry about such nonsense.

If you bought the music and books from iTunes after logging into your iTunes account plug the iPhone in and choose Transfer Purchases from the iTunes's File menu.

And here is the funny thing? It would be easier for me to go piracy right now to get the files I want. Making processes more difficult for consumers is never a smart idea.

When was Apple forced by the government to make life difficult? If I recall correctly, Apple has always been anal about this stuff, long before they were the current powerhouse.

They don't. They make excuses like religious zealots as to why a process is the way it is.

I have to download more software to get my files. You would have to be a retard to think this is a stellar idea.

I've just recently been messing around with drop box, but I have an android too

Forced?!?! Apple INVENTED vendor lock in with computers. Microsoft learned it from Jobs. You may not remember, DOS created portable, standard files. It was when MS emulated Apple with the release of Windows that they began to also emulate Apple's lock in strategy.
