I personally would consider him more part of the "new school", like John Gotti's era, although he had ties to one of the old families, I would consider him more modern gangster, not old time or classic like Bonanno, Genovese, Capone, Luciano, etc.

But that is just my opinion. If you make an offer I can't refuse then I might say otherwise... :winkwink:

I have watched Goodfellas like a million dimes....

"For us to live any other way was nuts. Uh, to us, those goody-good people who worked shitty jobs for bum paychecks and took the subway to work every day, and worried about their bills, were dead. I mean they were suckers. They had no balls. If we wanted something we just took it. If anyone complained twice they got hit so bad, believe me, they never complained again " - Henry Hill

I love Goodfellas as much as is humanly possible, but what's with all the loving tributes to Henry Hill? Wasn't he kind of a shitty person?

more or less.. he has kind of a robin hood charm to him in the movie, but the real life story was a lot less entertaining and more diabolical and murderous. There's a documentary out that describes some of the real people involved with him and his crew and it's pretty cold and ugly. Should check it out.

I loved that movie

xxxjay 06-13-2012 12:01 PM

Rat or not, the guys inspired what I think is in the top 3 mob movies of all time.

Goodfellas, Casio, and Scarface all classics. Goodfellas may be my favorite.

Our content partner TTBoy knows him and has invited me to sit down and watch the movie with him while he does the commentary on what really happened.

I'm sorry I never took him up on that.

:Oh crap

John-ACWM 06-14-2012 09:05 AM

Which remains me to see the latest episode of Magic City

Porno Dan 06-14-2012 04:06 PM

While he may well have exaggerated how much of a role he had in the mafia, there is no denying that Goodfellas is one of the greatest movies of all-time, a true classic.

StickyGreen 06-14-2012 04:14 PM

Everyone giving props and saying RIP to some murdering thug scumbag....

lol, not surprising with you sleazeballs though....

Vjo 06-14-2012 05:42 PM

Sad to hear that. I loved him on Stern ever since 1996 (first appearance) when he mixed it up with "Pauly"

Love mob shit.
