A CCBill Only Nats System - Is it worth it ?
OK So I have a question (like always) we're thinking of taking over a Nats License... but we dont want to issue checks ourselves... so we're thinking of just using CCBill as a processor within Nats... with them issueing the checks...
Is it worth it ? I hear you affiliates like the Nats back end... so it's worth our time taking it on... will it get us more affiliates/traffic/sales me wonders... There will only be revshare... and no trials... so I am wondering if it's worth the effort ? However there are people using it already, and it will definetly save them changing links and losing traffic ect... Weighing up the pros and cons... any advice ? Anyone done this ? Also struggling to find out all that will be needed... the current license we're taking over uses various billing options, we will be using CCBill... so not sure what will be involved to change things over to the new billing options... Have posed the questions to TMM so hopefully they will shed some light on things too... |
I used this set for a while and it worked well.
Any of your affiliates who hate logging into CCBill to check stats will love you. |
That is exactly what sliiing did. Highly recommend checking it out and comparing the options.

You're taking over a license, not an install I'd think.
So you will need to have TMM doing an install for you. (prices at their sites) I Love working with NATS as Admin and as Affiliate. While i'm not going to promise you more sales, you're going to fall in love with all the options, so expanding your site/payments options etc, is easy job. You should contact them, and ask them for the demo. What NATS can offer you, is in noy way to compare with CCbill, which did not get updated after the 'Second World War'. |
Thanks...
Thanks for the input, let me elaberate on this a little (even though it will still probably be a little cryptical for now lol)
The license was being used on a program... it will still be used for the exact same program and in turn sites... We were not originally taking it over, originally we were just going to switch the sites to CCBill... However there are existing affiliates sending traffic and we dont want to let these people down... So we decided to take over the license, but it will be through a different billing option... We already have a CCBill account set up for these sites... so I am hoping it will be easy enough to switch the billing options over... and make it done in a way where existing affiliates still get credited... We're trying to make it as seemless as possible... we definetly want to do this in a drama free way... As I said I know there will be some restrictions... I know we wont be able to offer PPS, I know we wont be offering trials... but hopefully affiliates will still see the benefits of being able to access the same tools (and more to come) the Nats tracking, and also be assured of payments through CCBill... We're hoping that we can use the existing cascade to Epoch that we have built into the current CCBill account, but no one seems to be able to tell us if that will work or not... :helpme |
I currently run this setup at http://nats.cash4kicks.net and I love it!
In general the NATS cascading feature works very well for me. At the moment I do this with CCBill, Epoch and Verotel. Plus GXBill phone billing as a special separate cascade. However, I was told by TMM that CCBill affiliates would not get credited for sales which cascaded to another processor. So at the moment I miss out on a lot of potential sales because my CCBill affiliate sales are not cascading, which is a bit of a bummer! |
Question

I was told it was impossible to use the Nats cascade if your using CCBill to make the payments ? :helpme :error |

I use cascading for type-in traffic (currently Epoch 1st) and CCBill only for the CCBill paid program (CCBill making the payments) I've created rules so traffic reaches the appropriate cascade depending on whether it's type-in or affiliate traffic. Another feature I love with Nats. |

Hi Trashy, Thats what we are doing, currently setting up Nats, and will only be using ccbill and cascading that works with ccbill, that way CcBill will still cut all of our checks, as far as current hosted galleries etc. you can set it up to go through nats, and your affiliates won't have to change anything, They will still get credit for all of their sales and traffic.

The tech support guys at TMM are very good.
Once you get setup with NATS you will be in good hands if you need assistance at any time. They also have very useful articles at http://wiki.toomuchmedia.com/index.php/NATS |
You can use sliing or the nats integration with webmasterchecks to send the payments out.
But you cant beat ccbill for being consistently reliable, i have to say. |

Hi TrashyContent,
This is exactly what we are doing. Set up with us and forget all problems! Through Sliiing, you can offer backup credit card options and all kind of alternative billing options and we will pay your affiliates for you. Our system is non intrusive, very simple to use though efficient and robust. Check my sig and contact me for more informations on what we can do for you. Quote:

As I heard CCBill also has a cascade setup. Or am I missing something? |

This is the response I received: "Nats does not support internal ccbill cascading. If you do this, these sales will not register in nats properly. If you want to use multiple billers, I would strongly suggest using a standard program in nats and doing payouts yourself via nats instead of having ccbill do them for you. Please let me know if you have further questions regarding this." |

CCBill does not seem to be able to definitively tell us how they will post back sales to NATS that occur as a result of their internal cascading. So we can not guarantee how it will work if, when, and how it gets posted back to NATS. Therefore, we can not "support" it in that sense. You're in no way forbidden from enabling CCBill's internal cascading on your account, we just can't guarantee that CCBill will post them back to us in a way that will be handled properly. If they can provide us with details on exactly how these sales would be posted back we would be more than happy to bug test & verify that everything functions properly. and officially support it. |
