Hosting?

Who do you use and why?
How long have you been with your host?
Do you spread your hosting around? (IE: Use more than one?)

Denny 06-10-2012 12:30 PM

I've used SecuredServers for the past almost 2 years. Price is right, they're extremely reliable, fast network. I also like managing my own server.

If you're looking for managed hosting, check out Amerinoc. Nice prices, nice service, and I never had any problems when I hosted there.

bbobby86 06-10-2012 12:41 PM

i use godaddy... but not to good... try hostgator or mojohost, name cheap...

OmahaJoe 06-10-2012 12:47 PM

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm just looking for another host to start building out landing pages on. Nothing too heavy. I don't mind managing my own servers but if I don't have too then I wont.

OmahaJoe 06-10-2012 12:48 PM

Are nakedhosting and certifiedhosting the same company now?

Carpathia
Amerinoc
Hostgator

Been with Carpathia since before when they were Prohosters. They have always handle our account and concerns professionally including reinstalling a blog that got corrupted from their daily backups.

Amerinoc was Phatservers when we signed up and they were awesome as a host. We have been pretty happy since the change over as well.

Hostgator for value initially and actually they have turned out to be a very solid host for us.

There you go. Good luck with your choices.

OmahaJoe 06-10-2012 02:29 PM

I'm using 1and1 right now. I love there service and they have not let me down. But I need another group of servers on another IP address.

Well I work for a host so keep that in mind but I also host there and hosted there for years before getting a job with them.

I always kept all my sites with them, I just did a reseller plan because I got about 80 websites I play around with.

Now I have a dedicated because my site can afford it but in most cases the reseller is fine.

Anyways great company... http://www.dwhs.net :thumbsup

anexsia 06-11-2012 12:26 AM

using Hawk Host for my blog network...have been with them for almost 2 years now and have not had a single problem.

3xmedia 06-11-2012 01:31 AM

No matter how long you have been with your host or how much you love them, it's time to have them upgrade you to a new server. times and technology have changed and if you have not been upgraded it is time. demand your host upgrade you to a new state of the art server and if they won't then talk to a new host. Your hard work and websites are important to you so you should demand the best hardware available and If your current host won't do it, then another one will. :2 cents:

We do this all the time, but sometimes scripts are not updated and all hell breaks loose. Just saying make sure your scripts are ready for a new OS, php, apache ect.. before you go moving to a newer system.

Penny24Seven 06-11-2012 11:21 AM

I have great info on this, let me find it and post in a few

stach14 06-11-2012 11:46 AM

M3Server would be happy to discuss your needs and you wouldnt have to manage your own server with us :-)

ideaworx 06-11-2012 12:20 PM

Mojohost, hands down. Top notch support and solutions.

Belinda 06-11-2012 12:22 PM

Mojo for sure! One of the best for customer support I have seen and just a great all around group of people. Some of the most generous and nice people I have ever met work there and Brad is just amazing.

They will do you right no matter what you need!

RaDiCaL_Kevin 06-11-2012 12:23 PM

Mojo! Customer support is awesome! And how can u go wrong with Brad and Scooter.

I personally use MojoHost and this is the company in which I refer all my clients too! Reason is both quality of product as well as customer service and support. It probably explains why MojoHost has won several awards as well. :thumbsup

How long have you been with your host?
4 years and as previously mentioned I have several of my clients hosting there that are on a much larger scale than what I am as my site is purely for reference where as my clients have sites that see HUGE quantities of traffic.

Do you spread your hosting around? (IE: Use more than one?)
I don't but I had my largest client duplicate their site on MojoHost as a secondary location as a fall over which has been so successful that my client is currently changing things up and making MojoHost their primary location now due to the amazing experience in the quality of service that has been provided.

Additional options in which I would recommend if MojoHost doesn't fit what it is that you are looking for is 2nd NationalNet and then 3rd would be Webair

Klen 06-11-2012 12:49 PM

Mojohost is the way.

TurboAngel 06-11-2012 01:34 PM

Been with NatMet for 3 years now the by far have the BEST support.
