Threatening phone call
 

So, yesterday I got this message on my answering machine:

"You fucking bitch, I am going to kill you! I hate your fucking guts you whore"

As I am listening to it, I am wondering who the HELL it is! I did not recognize the voice and hardly anyone has my home number...the NEXT message on my machine went like this:

"Ummm...ignore that last message, I have the wrong number"

You're pretty easygoing with a possible death threat Kayla. I'd have dialed the number for "call trace", then phoned the telephone company to report it, followed by a call to the police. It might not have been you that was the target, but someone definitely was. That sort of shit shouldn't be taken lightly.

You cant simply have a number traced, not here in the US anyway.

I have been told it has to be more than 3 times in one day and there are other things that need to be done before it can be traced.

not as simple as getting it traced.

cops dont care either. calling them wont help.

and the phone company can care less about 'prank calls'

i have had plenty of calls over the years, and nothing was ever done.

here in montreal, you *57 their ass, it marks it in thier records, 5bucks a pop, max of 10 dollars, so you get a few, call 912, (thats the REAL number) and you tell them you *57'd their ass, they'll take care of it

Call the police or even better yet have your place secured by aquiring the services of some security guards god forbid that should be Maja Lee from Vancouver Canada if a guy strolls on by your cooked. I can even give you a number of a guy I shoot for who has to vicious pitbull terriers who will rip anyone who tried to get close to you apart.:thumbsup

I know a girl who's ex-bf calls her daily and leaves her messages chewing her out.

Thing I don't get is that she listens to them.

Fuck, I erase any voicemail that starts with yelling or unpleasantness.

A few years ago we were in a fucking horrible place financially, were being evicted because my husband had lost his job, yadda yadda yadda...so my landlord calls while I'm on the line with a local charity who helps people with housing costs. It's perfectly clear that the message service is a voicemail, because it says"You have reached the VOICEMAIL of __________, please leave a message."

So what does my dumbass landlord do? He proceeds to leave me a screaming, furious, nearly incoherent message along the lines of "Pick up the fucking phone, bitch! I know you're listening to this! Pick up the fucking phone or I swear to god I'm going to kill you! I'm calling the sherrif's office right now to boot your ass out of that house, c|_|nt! Pick up the phone!"

I listened to it, called the sherrif's office myself, and explained the situation. I was told that the county sherriffs can't get involved in an eviction w/out a court order, and to keep a copy of that message if I needed to file harrassment charges. I relayed all this to my landlord the next time he called, and he was sweet as pie from then on. I never had another problem with him. :thumbsup
