Finally Got Rid Of My Mouse... But I Kept The Keyboard!!!
This is what I use now... & I am never going back!
http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US...1260761_sa.jpg Anyone else prefer these? |
Yes, it's ok for browsing but it's just not as precise, slowed me down when I needed to do real work. I'm back to the mouse.
|
that kind of mouse was good for xcom or whatever turn based game, but not for work
|
the best. (for work, no playing around like logitech)

Been using it for years and love it! Quote:
That's likely because you didn't get allow yourself to become acclimated to it. Few things are more precise than being able to keep the rest of your hand perfectly still while only moving your thumb. I have my mouse speed dialed all the way up and have precise control when editing images. Plus it's ergonomically correct. Have a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard to round up my setup. Both are connected to a kvm switch for easy keystroke swapping between PC's with multiple monitors to boot. http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/_b...4000_large.jpg |

Personal preference to a large extent. Hope it works out for you :)

Your thumb will never be able to track things as well as moving your hand. Also, with those types of controllers, you can accidentally move the cursor with involuntary thumb movements when you click on something. They suck.
|
I already get pain in that fat muscle under my thumb - I don't think I would get on with one of those.
It would be nice to find an alternative though. |

I can use my thumb-based trackball better than a regular mouse. Moving your entire hand (and by extension your arm) is not as stable as keeping four fingers, your hand and your arm stationary and moving just your thumb. Quote:
The accuracy of use and resulting learning curve is a matter of preference, as someone mentioned earlier. And as for involuntary thumb movements? Simply take your thumb off the ball. :1orglaugh (it's just as comfortable) |
|
I would have to crack my thumb knuckle every five minutes...

When using a regular mouse you can easily move in all direction, with thumb alone the simple joints make it difficult for example when pulling towards your hand. but as you said, it's a matter of personal preference... |
Love my razor mouse
|
|
I like my track ball but the damn thing is constantly losing reception
|
i fucking hate track balls.
|
Used to use the old M$ fingertip trackballs when I would play fps games and kicked some ass with them.
