Elementary School Gives Out Awards Based on Race
I guess thats one of the reasons why some parents go batshit crazy during high school graduations. Can't get honor roll or attendance award, go with what you got.
BTW: We need to have our GFY race awards. Quote:

Sounds like a lot of bitching and complaining about NOTHING.
Typical. |
I see no problem here. We should have separate awards for white students, white Miss America's, white oscar winners, and white athletes! Celebrate diversity!!

I have always found it interesting that the UK has 'Black Footballer of the Year', then there's 'Women's Chess'. Blacks shouldn't need their own football award, as on average UK born blacks do better at football than non-blacks. As for women needing their own chess, seems strange unless they're expecting to get raped, flashed or beaten up

They should make a golf tournament... call it the Black Holes and show it on the Science Channel. Really fuck everybody's night up.

I can't wait until my white daughter gets to college. I want her to get one of those minority grants. LOL. Fuckers.

So who won the Juan Valdez weed-wacker award?

those awards are racist, so stupid these people can't see it...you're not the best student, you're just the best black student. ha.

Would have been nice if my high school awarded Jewish students back when I was a kid :(

This is inherently divisive - and has nothing to do with remedying any lingering consequences of slavery or evening the playing field.
It's about race without varnish, and, properly understood, it's an insult to all Black people: it represents the idea that it's so unusual for a Black child to be a good student with exemplary behavior that it's an achievement worthy of public recognition. That's sad, a slap in the face to many tens of thousands of Black children who are doing their very best. Just doing one's duty is not what awards are about and to tell Black children that doing one's duty is exceptional enough to win an award communicates an unfortunate message to them; it also communicates an unfortunate message about Black people to the rest of the students. The Jewish and Asian kids, the children of immigrants to these shores in general, acquire from their parents and their culture a value that being a good student with good behavior is simply the basepoint worthy of no special recognition, and that, frankly, it's usually just not good enough. They are challenged and motivated to do the very best work they are capable of producing, they are punished when they only meet minimum standards short of their capabilities, and that's why they tend to excel. If Black families ever get around to inculcating those values in their kids, affirmative action, racial preferences, and some large part of the welfare state will all become quite unnecessary. |
The award was given by a jew organization that knows exactly what they're doing by gassing these kids up into products they can ridicule later :1orglaugh

Awards
The truth is bring white and also being a man in the US is an advantage. Just look at the board of directors of any major US corporation. They might have a token Black, woman or Hispanic.
So what if there are a few rewards for minorities to help them become 'productive members' of society? My GF's daughter graduated from high school yesterday with more scholarships than anybody else and she's white and blonde. if a "Black" scholarship helps a kid to overcome living on welfare aren't we all better off? But come on, nobody usually mentions them, but there are scholarships for everything. Some guy dies and leaves money for any kid whose grandparents came from a certain county in Ireland and has the last name of O'Leary. Is that any more racist? My problem with the system is we've become award crazy. We give out awards to kids just for playing a sport. At season's end, every kid gets a trophy. Kids 'graduate' from kindergarten and middle school. Kids become to expect awards just for breathing. On TV, there's always some damn award show on. Used to be the Oscars were just best movie, best actor and best actress. Now the kid who holds the door of the actor's limo gets an Oscar. And those awards and scholarships don't mean shit. $100K in scholarships and the college still wants $3K, no credit cards accepted. You might get some reward, but you're still going to end up at McD's just like pro athletes who spent all their money on Bling, unless you put out effort. Then there's people like my son. He's 1/32 Indian, so he could get all kinds of college money and probably income from casinos. Won't take a dime. |

Im with J D here
I have long said as long as you hold yourself out as different you will never be equal. That is not to say don't celebrate individuality it is to say as long as there is a miss black america or whatever you wont have equality. |

if they got an award the honor roll student should have as well... the ending article sentence kinda contradicts itself...
We truly are trying to embrace and celebrate the diversity of this district, not point out differences. |
