Microsoft Fucking Us Again
 

Apparently they've released a "patch" that updates IE and WMP.

Before it was just the WMP 9 People but now anyone that runs the update and trys to view a ASF, WMV, and AVI that are protected behind an .htaccess file that uses basic authentication will be SOL.

Gotta love Microsoft for constantly fucking things up.

that explains a lot of email ive been getting about people having to re enter user/pass over & over... and still never getting the movie.

altho i personally havent had the problem

Find a way to keep your video outside of the .htaccess protected directory!

I think embbeded players are still okay, and you can always do Right -Click to Save as" deal.

We are looking into using session ids and creating symbolic links based on the seesion id. Have not thought it all thru, just a starting point to a possible solution . . .
