Why do you use sponsor hosted galleries?

1-Most of these sponsors have galleries that have no chance in hell of converting.
2-They use the same template for all their galleries.
3-These hosted galleries are mostly from sponsors that you would have never promoted if its wasn't for their free galleries.

I Agree

You have a shot at getting paid for linking to a gallery. Why wouldn't you list them considering you get nothing for linking to Joe Blow's crappy gallery?

They don't cheat anybody

Thats not true I know NastyDollars galleries are unique and custom and they have hundreds of galleries.. not the same one all the time, and the add ones all the time. I convert at like 1:150 and they pay 35.00 a signup.. and all I do is just promote their galleries .... Check sig for their program

Thanks,
Rpet

1 - Better 2 bucks in my pocket than 200 in yours. :)
2 - No
3 - True. So?

Woke up on the wrong side of the bed or having trouble getting your galleries listed? Smaller sponsors have better galleries otherwise they'd be hurting. Personally, we got quite a few different templates for the galleries we host I think many others do too. I list hosted galleries in all my TGPs from whoever as long as the galleries look pretty.. they convert or not they make my TGP look pretty, it doesn't cost me anything but gives me a chance to make a buck. Now wake up and grab a coffee :)

People link hosted galleries because they're gonna list galleries anyways, why not have a shot at making a couple bucks off it.

I'll take all the hosted galleries I can find - toss them all into my gallery pool that feeds my sites and wait for the sales to slowly trickle in.....

And why is that?
It definately levels the playing field somewhat. Especially when your competition has inferior galleries.

A chance a little bit of money for no work (unless you submit them around). Like seven said, use it to feed a TGP, again basically no work, keeps the gallery content fresh and you have a chance at making a little bit of money. Every bit helps.

we get alot more signups from our hosted galleries than I had anticipated.

Because most of the time their member area leave to be desired, in all likelihood the paysite won't be update after the first few month, etc.

Maybe, but a few big time sponsors have some sucky non updated member areas as well filled up with plugins.

"Can't judge a book by it's cover." Gotta look inside and see what you find.

I think the main reason is lack of exposure and advertising and lack of big per signup payouts that the larger sponsors use. Most of the smaller sites are revshare and until recently most webmasters were partial to the PSU model.
