We've done a couple of 100% custom cam solutions. It's not a cheap way to go, but if you are looking for something that is unique and not out of the box, hit me up.

The other big question is what makes so special a script to charge 1K for it? The script alone is not going to drive you traffic (the most important to make sales), so paying 1K just a script is crazy... I wonder why people pay that much. What's so special?

you are right that makes no sense to go into webcam business if you don't have enough budget for marketing or strong marketing background ready to use for webcam biz. Otherwise it is really lost of money and considering that I don't understand why such serious business investment could be based on the cheap script. That should be either pure custom solution or some good (no bugs) script.

We are getting many customers who tried cheap scripts for ~$200 and then realized that script simply don't have enough functionality to run business.

obviously I was not REFERRING to the WEBCAM script... 1 k for webcam script is cheap..

I was referring to the TUBE script.. I mixed up two things in same message.

forget all the shit of cam scripts who you can buy.... they all sell software that's 5 year behind.... one has some crappy java server another one provide only hosted solutions and and and... they have all together that you never will make serious money with them :-)

Some functionality that is needed that you can make money today apart marketing:

free preview / free cams is a nice way to bind users, the bad is the need bandwidth cost and this because they don't use RTMFP over FMES or Adobe Services which would reduce them by 80%.... and you can stream HD for free too :)

they use standalone encoders for H.264 means the broadcaster must install some software that mostly connect to a local installed Adobe Media Encoder.... since Flash 11 this is not anymore needed, it has a builtin H.264 encoder....

and now the most important: why no one integrate various micropayment solutions that would allow that the user in a easy way (and most important: mostly anonymous) use the service, spend tips, send gifts or whatever....

there exist many more points, fact is: if you want earn serious money develop a custom solution that really works.... if you don't have the money for it be a affiliate.
