Epoch

Great people to deal with, cascade to another processor.

C4W 06-04-2012 01:18 AM

Go for Epoch. Simply the best.

Have used them for 10 years and i preffer them over all others.

sojproductions 06-04-2012 01:32 AM

I use them second in my cascade, been using them around 2.5 years now, never once had a complaint.

DWB 06-04-2012 01:59 AM

They are a good processor and have more throughput than most of the other 3rd party billers, but we had an issue with them when they requested non-redacted IDs of two models I had, along with non-redacted model release forms. They would not allow me to censor the models personal info -- I wanted to only show their name, photo and date of birth -- or come to our office (which was near theirs) to inspect our 2257 records, per the law of 2257, and per their own rule of listing our records address on a 2257 page for inspection purposes. They wanted to bypass all of that and have us send them everything to some jack ass support guy via email and would not budge on the issue.

For the safety or our models, we wouldn't budge either and Epoch terminated our account over it.

So, they get a plus for caring about legal content, but a huge minus for model privacy issues and trying to be above the law and side step the official inspection process for 2257. Then even after the termination, the employee STILL wanted to see the IDs. None of it ever made sense to us other than the possibility of an obsessed employee working for them.

Other than that, no problems.

In hindsight, given the employee was so hell bent on getting the non-redacted IDs, and as painful as it was to lose our account, we believe we did the right thing for the models safety. Just because someone works at a place like Epoch that does not mean they can't be a whack job / stalker.

They are good, second in our cascade and very less negative income compare to others

2MuchMark 06-04-2012 04:45 AM

Epoch has rock-solid industry cred and longevity. You can't go wrong working with Epoch.

DamianJ 06-04-2012 05:39 AM

Nothing negative to say. Better throughput than CCBill, better rebills than CCBill, and the most responsive and easy to work with reps and techies.

Anyone still only using them as secondary is missing a trick.

Finike 06-04-2012 05:43 AM

Excellent rebills and user support!

iSpyCams 06-04-2012 05:52 AM

They have good throughput as has been stated, as has also been stated they very much lead the pack in being anal, nit-picky and micromanaging your sites.

I dropped them from my cascades recently after I discovered they were bringing me 90% of my headaches and only 10% of my income.

mikeworks 06-04-2012 09:50 AM

Epoch gave 24 hours termination notice for linking to another site (either hardlink or trade link) they would not give any more detail than that. All rebills stopped as well. No issues with CCBill/Zombaio/Global Acces.

I have a love hate relationship with Epoch. I currently have them at the top of my cascade because:
a) They accept a greater number of credit / debit cards.
b) Their admin interface is easy to use and loads fast.
c) Tech support is very good.
d) Money transfers into my UK bank account are pretty much instantaneous. Not quite sure what they are doing differently to CCBill and Verotel where transfers can take 2 or 3 days.

The bad points are that they are super petty and have over zealous protocols.
I had two annoying issues with them:

1) They wouldn't accept the genuine PO Box address I had on my 2257 page and insisted on a physical address. I take it that the FBI will travel to my UK address to inspect my records? I don't think so!
2) They insisted on setting up separate product codes for my 4 paysite domains, even though they we only have one all access members area.
It was explained to me that I am committing some sort of money laundering offence or something without doing this.
It all seems a little crazy to me. Never had any of the above issues with other billers.

Regardless, as previously stated, if you can get through their red tape they are worth having as a primary biller.

Theo 06-04-2012 05:58 PM

You can't go wrong with Epoch

Tat2Jr 06-04-2012 07:20 PM

Love Epoch. Been with them since the beginning. Over 10 years of great service.

They aren't bad.

While the FBI does have offices around the world, they are not inspecting anyone. And if they did, foreigners probably won't have anything to worry about.

However, it is ironic they busted your balls for a physical address. They did that to us too, then would not come to the physical address they made us list to check the IDs they wanted, and we were near their office. Not sure what the point is if THEY won't even use the address they make you use.

I guess all other billers are laundering money. :1orglaugh

V_RocKs 06-05-2012 03:15 AM

2257 regs state you must use a physical address... That way the FBI isn't raiding itself... get it?

Also, EPOCH is top notch. I have dealt with them on many different levels, many different times and they have always bent over backwards for me and my associates.

LongBucksVip 06-05-2012 03:38 AM

We have been working with them for years. Nothing bad to say.

BNMedia 06-05-2012 06:27 AM

But you are missing my point.
2257 is a US law and as a European citizen the American authorities have no jurisdiction in the UK.
I understand the need for a 2257 statement when using US hosting and billers but I could quite easily use European hosting / billers and no one would give a shit. Verotel don't care as they are a European company. In actual fact I have never hosted with anyone who has any concern for my 2257 compliance. Surely if anyone would need to scrutinise this is the host?
I don't want to open a can of worms here. I'm sure this has been discussed before and we are going a little OT.
My point is that I declare that I keep correct proof of age records and Epoch know how to contact me to acquire specific model information if they needed to. I know for a fact that Epoch, the FBI or any other US organisation will not come knocking on my door.
Regardless, I do comply fully!

MichaelP 06-05-2012 06:34 AM
