after 12 years i have decided to quit smoking

I`ve been smoking since i had 16 years old and last week i`ve decided to quit forever. Wasn`t so hard at all, the only thing missing from me is the pack and the light in my jeans`s poket :D
Feeling much better and i`m happy with the decision i made it!

its not easy to quit its been nearly a year and i still feel the urge as long as you can make it over the first couple of weeks you should be fine

EddyTheDog 06-04-2012 01:19 AM

I have to do it - Its been 26 years for me, but its always 'a bad day to quit'.

I have also piled on a lot of weight and I am sure I will eat to compensate if I quit.

I quit smoking 4 months ago. It wasn't so hard at the beginning, but after 2 months I began avoiding people, my friends, who smoke. We met at the bar and they smoke, and i just felt I could give up and smoke any minute.

Well done! Choose life and be happy :D

I quit after 15 or so years ... its easy at the beginning, the real problems start after a few weeks :) For me it was the hardest about 2 months after I quit, I felt strong urge to smoke. But its all in the head, if you really want to quit, you can do it. Its almost 2 years since I quit and I am still clean (only smoke once once my wifes BD and I was wasted like a mofo). But I still feel the urge to light one from time to time :)

Quit myself a year ago after smoking for 14 years. First couple of months were the worst. Feel much better, although I've put on 20 pounds from eating more. Still want one sometimes, but am okay with just someone else's secondhand smoke.

mamaliga 06-04-2012 08:02 AM

michael.kickass 06-04-2012 08:39 AM

Good for you man, I found out some time ago that cigarettes is the stupidest vice ever. It gives you nothing and it takes a lot from you.

Sophie Delancey 06-04-2012 08:41 AM

I started when I was sixteen and smoked until I was about forty or so. Then I used the pills - the lozenges. This worked great but I was still hooked on the nicotine. It was queer - I had to have a full bottle of pills with me when I left the house or I would freak out.

Eventually I decided to try the patch. Put one patch on, quit the pills.... And that was that.

Now once a year I can buy a pack or two and smoke and then walk away without issues. It's nice to be free of that beast.
