Google Analytics on adult blogs

Why are the so many blogs without google analytics? mostly blogs on sensualwriter and other free blog hosts?

Even if you have let's say hundreds of blogs, isn't it good to track your traffic anyway?

ShoeBox 06-02-2012 12:09 AM

google analytics isn't the only way people track using wordpess or other blogs , there are also wordpress plugins for stats

2intense 06-02-2012 12:14 AM

stay away ,GA sucks

AllAboutCams 06-02-2012 12:16 AM

awstats kicks ass

anexsia 06-02-2012 12:35 AM

I use both GA and Statcounter...I'll add GA to my main blogs and will organize my blog networks with Statcounter so I can keep track of each network's stats. I also put all my free hosted blogs on Statcounter rather then use GA with them.

What are the disadvantages of Google Analytics?

The anti-Google, conspiracy kook cool kids won't think you're cool if you use it.

Babaganoosh 06-02-2012 05:12 AM

I don't see any reason to use it unless you're just not capable of handling your own stats. If you're not, then great. You have an excuse for using a 3rd party stats program. Why give Google even more information on your site's visitors? There are lots of slack-jawed newbies that will tell you GA won't affect your traffic, but it will. I've seen it time after time.

u-Bob 06-02-2012 05:28 AM

I don't like GA.

Only noobs use Google Analytics.

iSpyCams 06-02-2012 06:16 AM

I use it on a few sites but have noticed that most of my sites perform better without it. Now that G is sharing information between all its services I feel better if they are not hanging out in every room in my house, watching me masturbate, listing the TV shows I watch, counting my calories, etc.

I mean for God's sake how much information do I need to give them?

AdultGuy 06-02-2012 06:49 AM

I recently track that GA has not a positive effect on my blogs either.

MrCain 06-02-2012 07:19 AM

GA is bad for your Google rank.

Alex69 06-02-2012 07:30 AM

can be used

Jey p 06-02-2012 07:52 AM

a SE guru told me that the best way to track stats is with the logs of your servers

savy 06-02-2012 08:11 AM

Jey is right, you must have Awstats in your cpanel. That's the best way to see the traffic on your websites.

You had better let Google know because they are totally screwing up with my site. I can rank for whatever relevant terms I want and I use GA.

If you took the time to investigate you would see that the info provided by Awstats and GA are not even close to being the same.

kane 06-02-2012 12:27 PM

I have found them to vary greatly from my server stats. For example. I might have a site that my server stats shows as getting 1000 uniques in a day and GA will only show about 400-600.

Tat2Jr 06-02-2012 03:09 PM

All those graphs and numbers make me feel important ;)

garce 06-02-2012 04:54 PM

Google is as Google does. You're irrelevant to Google unless they can monetize the information you "supply" them with.

Analytics is an irrelevant, unnecessary joke. The only use it has is to allow Google to profile you, your site, and your traffic.

The stats aren't even close to being right. Might as well use Alexa.

HomerSimpson 06-02-2012 05:29 PM

StatCounter.com is the way....

GA sux

anexsia 06-02-2012 05:41 PM

Just use whatever stats your comfortable using...plenty of choices out there.

KingNigel 06-02-2012 07:31 PM

Piwik is better.

Now that piwik can import logs too it just might replace server stats programs as well. I'm still testing its ability to handle log processing but so far it looks great.

Slew_ 06-02-2012 08:02 PM

I personally never had a problem with it...

AAB 06-02-2012 08:35 PM

Google is not a free source enterprise. They're in business for money and have shareholders to report to. Being able to know everything about you, your site and its users clearly offers more than enough return to justify retention of a team of programmers maintaining the code.

As to the freehosts, it would require that they allow you to edit the template, add your own code or have the GA plugin available, which many do not.

Oddly enough, SensualWriter does have a field for entering whatever code you would like to appear between the head tags - though I primarily use it for redirecting the blogs mobile visitors.

smutnut 06-03-2012 06:30 AM

Google Analytics is for Google and Particularly google adsense. If you want to follow Bing and Yahoo along with it, you're better off with Wordpress plug ins like Wordpress Stats and Short Stats which give a nice brief analysis.

I am presently hearing the term "google it" replaced by "Bing it" on a lot of mainstream television shows. I don't know if this is paid product placement, culture changes or just people angry at google, but since google wants to be a social network instead of a search engine it's better of to gradually stop relying on them.

More than two thirds of my sign ups come from things other than google anyway

sleazydoesit 06-03-2012 06:57 AM

On freepornblogger.com I provide a plugin so you can add google analytics but I use statcounter to view things from my side

I'd bet $100 trillion that's paid product placement... no screenwriter on the planet would ever have a character saying "Bing it" on purpose. Even on live broadcasts I'm sure there's a standing agreement involved

iSpyCams 06-03-2012 08:00 AM

I stopped using GA one day when I was searching for one of my own domains and found a scraper site saying something along the lines of "it appears the owner of this site also owns: - " followed by a list of all my other sites with the same GA code.

I didn't care for the idea of random people being able to view my whole site portfolio, it's bad enough that Google knows.

I must be a paid advertisement; I have never seen the two words together much less have someone suggest it.

You've clearly never binged the phrase then.

Congrats on ranking PimpsPromo.com first for "Pimps Promo". This GA conspiracy is clearly a myth.

CyberSyn + Headspace is/was a great combination - too bad the the test blog I ran is now being redirected to iPhone App Reviews. :warning

beks001 06-10-2012 08:00 AM

how much of a difference does it really make? google can do whatever it wants, when it wants and how it wants. if business models are not built on the existence of pure google traffic then it should not be a problem. there I done fixed its...

Django 06-10-2012 08:03 AM

I have no personal problems with GA

I second all three points.

Its more likely the way your site is build / coded will affect your rankings :winkwink:
