i think for one split second in the trailer they show you the same species that had crash landed on the original planet in Alien. Kinda cool, not sure if it is supposed to be the same species, but the same look. The large alien that was still in it's cockpit in the original show.

This film started as Alien 5, a prequel to Alien but then Scott changed the script. you will see some similar ideas to the original Alien. But it looks to be very entertaining :thumbsup

shit. I am really, really excited for this film.

I'm not usually too crazy about the 3d thing, but I went to see Men in Black 3 in IMAX 3D yesterday, and the Prometheus trailer was shown before the movie. It looked pretty awesome.

Initially this started out as a direct "prequel" to Alien. While that isn't the case at this point, it still sort of is.

If that makes any sense.

This movie is set in the Alien universe, but it has nothing to do with the Xenomorphs.

It's about the "space jockey" from the original Alien movie.

Yep I'm in and it's a prequel to Alien - Brad you're right it's the same alien the astronauts see when they crash land in the first alien movie - Also the company that ships belong to is the same. Weyland industries - check out the Ted.com viral trailer:
