You can't just be happy for the fact that their credit card billing works perfect?

CPA37710T 05-30-2012 06:26 PM

lol thats what im saying, their billing is great, but their installation technicians take their time.. maybe theyre still celebrating memorial day :)

I started out out my career in a web host company. The operation was like one person who knew what there were doing with the web servers, another person billing and another person who was their friend just fucking around in the NOC center.

Good luck...

AllAboutCams 05-30-2012 09:41 PM

with all the bad rep on gfy about webair i dont think i would ever use them

Interesting.. I have a VPS there as well. Paying double what you pay. Prepaid for 3 months, and I got a ticket still sitting unanswered for 2 hours.

Webair reminds me of the guy who is always smiling and nice in public but when he gets home behind closed doors he beats the hell out of his wife and kids.

Or... you could respond to support tickets in a timely manner and avoid the constant bad press on GFY?

HomerSimpson 05-31-2012 06:48 PM

That's not a funny comment at all. Happy or not as a customer there are real people at work and owning these companies. Maybe I'm just sensitive because comments like that only need a half twist to be taken personally. Mike is a hell of a family guy and Webair serves thousands of customers, a multiple more than every other company that posts here on GFY. While that does not excuse some unhappy customers, in those volumes its impossible to make everyone happy. This is why we haven't offered VPS or shared in 8 years, its an incredibly high volume of requests for low revenue.. viable for some with the right formula but hard to scale personable support.

To this audience in our market you have to be fast and accurate or you get your ass kicked publicly. In the rest of the real world, most virtual host platforms either don't offer support or do so on a multi day turn around. Like I said, I'm not excusing anything but I don't envy their work. Everyone around here wants to work with techs on a 90k/year comp plan but thinks thats possible for a few hundred to a few thousand a year in fees. Even in the dedicated space, spend a few hundred a month around here for what costs 2-3x as much as Rackspace, its a great deal.

Glad everything worked out. I know he was joking, its GFY.. I just thought I'd pipe up.. when you're passionate about your business, that's one of those comments that after a twelve hour day at work that can easily be taken too seriously when you're worn out.
