Amerinoc?

Any of these guys online at this time? Once again my server is down.

CamTraffic 05-26-2012 06:54 AM

You must be in 0.00001% of down time.

Hello,
The server has been restarted and is responding again. Loads on the server are spiking. I would not advise adding more traffic to this server unless it's upgraded.
Server goes down again, I respond 1 minute after and no reply for hours. I thought these guys were known for their good support ...

start a new ticket i think sometimes they go home or something

Shoplifter 05-26-2012 10:49 AM

I've got a server down as well, maybe they are short staffed for the holiday.

:winkwink: It is the weekend so I guess they can be forgiven for that. They're usually on top of things right away.

I'll try making another ticket.

Freedoom 05-26-2012 11:40 AM

I'm also having problems with my server too :S

I could understand that for sales and billing staff. Those departments, or staff members/owner, are typically not going to be 24/7 at most companies. But if they are supposed to have 24/7/365 tech support, I do not believe "the holiday" should make any real difference.

:2 cents:

AnimeFevers 05-26-2012 11:52 AM

Are there actually any reliable hosting companies out there? Yet again I'm probably going to have to move hosts. The only reason I joined amerinoc was because of all the positive feedback I hear of them on here, some people saying they have been with them for years without any down time at all and replies to tickets in 1 minute on Xmas day :1orglaugh.

Gullible ...

i have no problems with their uptime (yes i've been with them for + 4 years) but sometimes they support could be a little more "clever"...well at least some guy from it ;]

- Jesus Christ - 05-26-2012 12:06 PM

not gonna hype them up other than to say I've been leasing dedicated servers since 2003 and they have the best support

Just asking, because I am seeing too many amerinoc down threads lately, and I was planing to move there... is this a specific downtime or a specific error they are getting?

or have you been getting many downtimes lately?

Just asking to know...

Every time my sites rise in traffic they go down, it's just a shame that they only fix things temporarily, I'd rather them do the smart thing and do a good enough upgrade for me to at least keep me away from sending tickets for a while.

I'd say for the smaller sites amerinoc is good, but for larger ones getting a high amount of traffic things aren't looking good. For me anyway, I'm sure not everyone experiences as much down time as I have.

Brujah 05-26-2012 01:05 PM

Are you on a dedicated server plan or something closer to a shared plan? Only reason I ask is to see whether someone else's sites might also be affecting yours.

A dedicated server, the last time my server went down I was advised to upgrade the ram to 16gb. Still waiting for them to reply to my last message atm.

Brujah 05-26-2012 01:19 PM

Do you know whether it's the web server (Apache, etc..), or is it a database issue, or a script (WordPress, vbulletin, etc..) causing the load spikes?

Hi,

We are aware of it are have been trying to get the load under control, the server is getting alot of traffic right now, pushing up to 200 Mbps. We will work on getting the server stabilized and then look at what the best option might be for an upgrade.

Brujah 05-26-2012 01:51 PM

That's a lot, you should see if borked will tweak that for you based on his experience.

If you don't mind me asking which type of server do you have there that is pulling close to 200mb?

baryl 05-26-2012 06:42 PM

Just chiming in that my experience with AmeriNOC has been very good.
Everyone and their uncle on GFY promotes them because they know people who sign up are going to stick around.
I've experienced two cases of my server going down in the past 6 months and both times the issue was fixed before I even had a chance to write a ticket.

Did you upgrade?

Seems to me if your traffic is causing the problem, it's your problem. You need to upgrade to handle your traffic loads. If the hosting company doesn't have a better solution with what you have with them, upgrade.

I'm with baryl on this one. Their back up is the best.

Yes I did upgrade and my server was fine until traffic grew again.

One of the guys at support advised me to get another server and put the biggest site on it by itself. That's what I'm going to do for now, just waiting for them to move the site.

Freedoom 05-27-2012 09:27 AM

Where is the support? My sites are down and no answer from them!

Mine are up

Yeah mines are up now too. But this weekend I had some much problems but no replies from them.... strange!

shake 05-27-2012 10:20 AM

Interesting, haven't heard much bad about amerinoc.

Natnet is always good to me.

Boozer 05-27-2012 10:27 AM

I had the same support issues last week. I am starting to think that they believe their level of support is acceptable

I've used both for two years. IMO Amerinoc is better if you want a nice deal with good support. If you want better support Natnet is the way to go but you'll probably pay more.

I've opened quite a few tickets with both host. Amerinoc does seem to get busy at times but they will go out of their way to help, although it may not happen immediately from my experience. They are still much faster than most webhost. Hell I remember using hostdime years ago, they asked me to wait about 5 days once for a tech to reply on a ticket.

With Natnet I've opened over 150 tickets or so and I've never had to wait more than 5 to 10 minutes for them to start working on a ticket. You're always dealing with someone who can handle any problem too, there's no different levels of support.

We did that when we had high Gallery and FHG traffic, so stuck them all on a new server. Probably not nearly as high as yours, yet it solved the problem and kept the paysites and stores running smoothly.

Today nothing like those heady days.

Amerinoc is actually doing fine by us and they have resolved any issues in a timely fashion considering it is a holiday weekend.

sandman! 05-27-2012 10:43 PM

sounds like you need to upgrade servers or get more servers.

I would not touch xxxhostit.com with a 10-foot pole. In Sweden we use the metric-system.
