WTF is Google doing now?

I see that when I do a search for my site in www, www1, www2, and google.ca it comes up and shows me a cached version from yesterday but in the google adbar it shows a cached version from Jan 11.

Sooo, are the changes I made to metas 5 days ago being taken into account for searches now?

Do the SERP's changed everytime google updates it's cache or do I need to wait until next months update to see the new SERP's

someone explain please :)

angelsofporn 02-11-2003 08:58 PM

jojojo 02-11-2003 11:21 PM

d0se 02-11-2003 11:28 PM

I don't think I'd consider myself an expert, but I think I can handle this.

Google has just finished an update, and google's crawler should be out full force reindexing and recaching all the sites. What you're noticing is your cache being updated. Sorry to tell ya tho, these changes won't be taken into account for the SERPs till next update.

thank god because I didn't see any improvement or find myself in the keywords I am now targetting :)

Is the site your trying to optimize in your sig? Or do you have others with higher PR? I'm ALWAYS (literally ;\ ) on the hunt for pr4 + sites.

How many of you really wait got the "google dance" what kind of traffic. joins etc do you get from google?

I am curious who here gets the most joins from google alone and what numbers they are doing..

I was all about the search engines a few years ago but they just dont seem to have the results they used to prolly just me.

Yeah Google is so picky and then I see other peoples ads and I am asking myself wtf.

This seems to be the case. I'm getting weird results on google.ca and since my IP is in canada I keep getting redirected to the canadian version of google but if i go thru one of my servers in the states it seems to be giving me stable results. Wait a day or two and see what happens. The time before and after the google dance is always unpredictable. It's not easy updating 3 Billion pages :D

Just look and see who comes up first for all the biggest keywords...

The link lists rule google. There are a few 'pure spam type' sites thrown in there for 'free porn' etc. Those make the most money because they are all ads.

No I am talking about another site that is a PR4 and should be a 5 on the next update :)

I am an old school SE geek.

Google does not index meta keywords or descriptions. The only time I've seen Google use them is when there is no other text anywhere on the page. then i've seen the description indexed, but it won't help you rank for anything.

if any of you guys have good search engine sites and would like to do some pr trading - hit me at [email protected] - i've got a huge list of pr4-6 domains

also www.webmasterworld.com is great for me in depth se info

AOLGuy 02-12-2003 04:11 AM
