They work... but find one with a long standing reputation.

How can i tell if hes full of shit or not? Besides looking at his credentials?

LiveDose 02-11-2003 08:36 PM

Get references. I went to one and he messed me up more. Talk to people who use them locally.

Mutt 02-11-2003 09:03 PM

quacks.

wouldn't be so bad if they didn't spend so much time trying to convince people they are doctors.

for certain conditions they can be helpful.

I don't recommend them. Generally they give you very temporary relief. I felt fine for a couple hours, afterwards I was back to normal and woke up very stiff. Then you feel like you need to go back, almost like a dependency. I've had every treatment possible for backs short of surgery. No luck so far.

Whats the active release technique?

Does it involve me taking my pants off?

sexyclicks 02-12-2003 08:55 AM

I go 3 times a week to straighten my back
If you sit all day in front of the computer you need something like that to help you

If I could go back to college right now...I'd go to be a Chiropractor. Mine lives 5 min from his office, and only comes in for scheduled appointments. The guys works me for 10 min and bills my insurance company $200. Not a bad racket.

Raph 02-12-2003 09:15 AM

I go weekly or biweekly, helps get things straight from a whole week of sitting at school and stuff ..

[Labret] 02-12-2003 09:20 AM

It fanfuckingtastic. At least go once. He will crack things you never imagined could be cracked.

VooMan 02-12-2003 09:23 AM

I don't agree with some chiropractors who believe that *everything* can be solved with chiropractic... however:

Once in a while it's a good idea to get an adjustment and have everything put in line again. Just like a wheel alignment on a car, your body functions better when everything is in the proper place. :)

Lev 02-12-2003 09:24 AM

I went to one when I got into an accident, I don't think it helped me much

Hmmm chiros' final bill #s are very negotiable. Lawyers would often call them after the insurance company makes a final settlement and lower the bill so the client can get some $ after the lawyer takes his %
