My new CB's and Refunds Solution

Since I'm sick of getting refunds and a few CBs from the same programs over and over I am having a new take on things next month. Each month I will be evaluating how many refunds or CBs a program sends my way. I will be redirect ALL that traffic to the program in the niche that has the most sales and least amount of CBs/RFDs. It sucks that we all have to take the hit for shitty consumer purchases but I'm tired of letting it keep happen. Adios to a few programs in June. And yes, I send more joins then I get refunded for for sure. It's like giving a fat little kid a big cookie and when he takes his first bite you yank it away from him. :1orglaugh

And my rates are not that bad. Just looked at year and I'm at less than 4% for Rfds and less than 0.3% for CBs. Am I just being a picky pain in the ass or is this valid?

Nope I am doing the same thing, just had 4 PPS $30 chargebacks from one sponsor last 2 days

Ignore chargeback and refunds. Yes, they are demoralizing, but you are paying attention to the wrong number. If you make more money with ABC sponsor, per time/resources invested, than XYZ sponsor? Why would you move all traffic to XYZ just because ABC had a chargeback?

Focus on the big number, not the little number.

True in the short term in some ways. On the other hand, lots of chargebacks means unhappy customers. Whether from banging cards, hidden cross sales or whatever, it's turning paying customers into people who won't use their card on the net again. Overall, a very high amount of chargebacks may be a sign of of a dog, as in "if you lay with dogs ..."

There are a few programs out there that don't penalize you when there's a chargeback.

Chargebacks can be the result of many factors, including how the affiliate is promoting the site. You will also see a certain number of chargebacks simply based on buyer's remorse, being busted by the wife etc.

In the end I agree with Sly's take on the matter. It's all about the bottom dollar. Obviously you want to check out your sponsors conversion path and member area to be sure you are promoting a good product though.

you mean there are programs that are passing chargebacks/refunds on the the affiliates? Thats kinda weak...we eat any chargebacks/refunds we get, its not passed along.

Certain programs have forced porn users to get smart. So many people were getting double dipped that people have been trained to request refunds or charge backs as a way to get access to free porn.

Shame on this companies that have been doing business that way. We all pay the price. Too bad people keep sending traffic to these programs.

It's not really PPS if they are doing that.

Are you seeing a noticeable increase from CCBill this month? Anyway be aware that some programs might use bogus refunds as a way to shave affiliates. I just drop anyone who has a consistently bad RF+CB ratio. People say "oh go by money made only" but would you hire a known thief to watch over your money if they were willing to work for 1/2 the wages? And there is this whole "change links every three months when a crooked sponsor decides to pull a fast one" thing. Who needs that? It's just making more work for yourself and cutting out your time where you could be making more money. It's a lot easier to just try to avoid the dishonest clowns from the start if you can.

LOL 90% of emails we get about billing it is from wifes or gf's (female names) who ask what this sale it was for. Then we reply that we can tell informations only to same email used for the order, not to anyone else who write us. Since it is cams and some of the guys spent thousand dollars, some gf's ask "is for cruise or travel packages?", as they can't believe he spent that much sitting in front of the home or workplace pc. Then we write to the email of busted guy to inform that the girl mailed us asking info on sale, and to please keep us informed. Then there are different outcomes: some will vanish / disappear (fighting husband without let us know) and there are 50% chances of chargeback if they do not reply emails like this. In some funny cases the girl end up writing from the mail of the busted guy so he surrended to her fully up to show all his collection of porn accounts (he is sure not having good time), but normally the gf/wife in those cases where they keep in touch, just ask us please cancel accounts "but is not fair to ask refund as sale it was legitimate". I mean if they continue to write and keep us updated, it is unlikely they chargeback - it is those who don't talk that are subtle enough to chargeback.

About pass on the chargeback loss to affiliates... we have not implemented this automatically yet, just if an affiliate gets too many chargebacks we talk him (or simply he's carding). But if we relied on affiliates more and had many, probably we would think at some automated chargeback forwarding too. For cam sites a bigger chargeback issue it is the payout of models however - for small chargebacks, some models can get offense and quit the site for example. So we do a sort of insurance up to $250 chargeback per model per 15 days pay period, so only models getting chargebacks higher than that are hit, rest it is our loss, and more than $250 per 15 days per model it is very rare and anyway will be from regular customers the cam girl know well so even knwo why he chargebacked (in fact I remember a guy chargebacked some $6000 at once some 3 months of his sales with a girl, then the girl convinced him to pay back this as bank wires "or I no more talk you even in skype" and he made it for real LOL I could not believe it - he sure a wallet slave).

I usually get about 3 refunds/chargebacks per month

This month I have 27 (still a week left) :( WTF is going on!!!!!!!

Everytime I get a niftystats transaction popup I get scared :helpme

gleem 05-24-2012 12:15 PM

95% of the chargeback I See on my program are simply total fraud, people signing up with a stolen card. The other 5% just deny they ever signed up and don't want to pay for porn. You CB's won't change because it's your traffic.

Credits are usually people that hated the program's site. That's a number you should be able to improve assuming the stats you are looking at differentiate between chargebacks and credits.
