Maybe you just had a bad lamb? I have had it, and it has always been good :)
|
lamb is great. mutton is crap.
i grew up on a farm in west australia, and we used to slaughter our own sheep for meat. its pretty gross when u fuck up and nick the stomach and everythin *bile, acid, shit* comes out Nothing beats fresh lamb roast with piles of gravy and mint sauce *dribbles* mutton is so dodgey dont eat it. |
hmm not sure what i had but when i tried lamb i didn't like it...it tasted too gamey
|
Pk,
I love the heck out of lamb chops :) When I was in the med last year, went over to turkey for a day. The had some wonderful lamb dishes!!! todd |
lamb is way better than beef.
i eat lamb at least 3 times a week, prefer it over beef. had beef today. well the messicans call it carne asada. technically flap meat. skirt steak. heheh |
lamb is the best!
|
weird.... lamb is the one of the nicest red meats there is.... r u sure u didnt get a rotten piece to start with?
|
the British eat TONS of lamb...when it is cooked properly it is wonderful. My hubby cooks the best roast lamb I have ever had ..so moist.
Lamb and a bit of mint sauce..mmm |
One of my favorite dishes ever is lamb souvlaki, a Greek shishkebab dish. Damn is that good stuff.
I would say that if the lamb is cooked improperly it could taste rather gamey, definitely. But done in a fine restaraunt the right way, it's amazing. Whenever I've cooked it at home I've always marinaded it for a day or two, then barbecued it up nice. It always comes out great. |
Try Rack of Lamb. You cannot go wrong.
|
Lamb is awesome. Also, if you're wondering why it tastes so awesome it is because it is unique! Lamb has a 50% fat and 50% meat all throughout.. :) Mmm...
Cheers, Matt |

I'll eat virtually anything, but lamb is yummy.
|
In Australia, we generally eat beef and kangaroo.
and tuna. |
Tastes like chicken :Graucho
|
lamb smells like piss, but it tastes good! :2 cents:
|
Must have been bad PK, quality lamb is very light in flavor.
I made lasagne Sunday... two kinds of italian sausage and ground lamb. :) |
you need to get a big ugly greek to cook it. They KNOW how to cook lamb - soooo good you'll drool over it.
just like you need a chineese person to cook oriential food an italian to cook pasta etc |
Lamb is the best. Nothing better than slowly roasting a whole lamb on a spit.

Well this was made for me. It was supposed to be lamb and garbanzo bean curry. I thought I'd try a new local gimmick of the Zone Diet. The company up here prepares 3 meals and 2 snacks per day and delivers them at night for the next day. My family's been in a fast food/restaurant kick and I've been feeling the effects of the heavy carbs and fats.
I guess I'm not cut out for this particular company's menus though. Of the 5 items they delivered this morning, there was stuff in each item that I totally can't stand. Guess it's back to the personal chef route. |
PK...check out www.fiveleaf.com . I just read about it but I've never ordered :)
|
lamb and garbanzo bean curry? I am trying in my mind to figure that out, but I can't quite get hold of it -- is the Zone diet the same one Donna Karan did?
|
Lamb can taste like that depending on the quality and the cut.
Shoulder, chops, legs, all very different. Tell your personal chef to make you a French lamb stew - using lamb shoulder in a brown stock with carrots, onions, potaotes, and purple-topped turnips - it cooks for like 2hrs so the meat is beyond tender and full of flavour. Made with organic ingredients of course ;) No excuse for rich webmasters/webmistresses to be eating generic chemically treated food ;) :thumbsup |

I guess you didn't get lamb but mutton... if that's prepared the wrong way it tastes if someone pissed onto it.
Lamb is just perfect |

www.ratemylambsrack.com :eek7 Lamb is a richer tasting meat than beef, and is not going to appeal to all, especially if all they are used to is beef for several years, lamb may be a strange taste to them ... I personally like trying new things, but I know many people who are creatures of habit, and like only what they are used to. |

Unfortunately most of the time you get lamb it's more like mutton or sheep, what makes lamb, lamb is when they are very young, the tast gets very gamey very quick. Also different cuts have slightly different flavors. Go heavy on the garlic and lemon or lime.
