Neat Idea/Franchise

Never seen one before, Forbes ranks it in its top 20 franchises. Edible Arrangements, fruit 'baskets' that look like flower arrangements.

Now you can eat your flowers hehaho

Saw a $45,000 Mercedes delivery van with that logo on it last week. Couldn't stop laughing. How much fruit with a very short freshness time window when prepared, cut mellon, etc, would you have to deliver to break even? And who wants a half eaten turning brown bunch of fruit sitting around the house? Worse yet who's going to eat a bouquet of fresh fruit full of hospital germs if sent as a get well token?

I think the real selling here is in the franchisor convincing franchisees this will somehow work. lol.

It's only an good if you've got a crowd of vultures that are going to gobble it all before it goes brown.

Mutt 05-19-2012 05:07 AM

i'd go through that fruit arrangement in an hour, rest of the day i'd be on the can.

Convincing suckers to spend $80+ on about $10 worth of fruit is genius.

They've gotten my money more than once.

They've got at least 5 locations in my mid-sized city.

My new franchise idea...

ShishKabaskets.com - We perfectly grill choice cuts of meat and the finest vegetables and arrange them into a beautiful and flowering basket of edible deliciousness!

Advisory: Meat and vegetables must be eaten within one hour of delivery or serious sickness and/or death may occur. ShishKabaskets.com and it's affiliates are not liable for sickness and/or death from eating any meat or vegetables delivered in baskets. Please eat at your own risk!

Been around a long time. I've used them.

Better than flowers that go in the trash, at least you can eat them

You mean where a bunch of people get together and do yard work? Strange ... :winkwink:

Seems like one of those businesses where the effort isn't worth the return.

It probably will not go brown.

Look what they have used.

There are only a few things cut up, such as pinaple, and that lasts ages cut.

The rest is uncut, as they are mainly berries.

The price of the fruit is the least of what you're paying for, so much so it's probably barely accounted for in their pricing.

brassmonkey 05-19-2012 11:45 AM

i don't suggest that. any cleaning contracts are good but look it over carefully janiking,Vanguard Cleaning Systems,jan-pro

if you dont have 5 grand plus you can find cleaning sub contracts

im telling you its a great place to be. :) im not sharing more than that

There is one of those over by the Beverly Center in Los Angeles. The arrangements are not priced particularly differently from floral ones and they are a fun change of pace for situations where a floral arrangement would be appropriate.

The "I like cock" bouquet is the one I was referring to, All the bananas turn in about an hour.

Of course. But the concept at its core is pretty much what I said.

LiveDose 05-19-2012 08:28 PM

Very popular. I've sent them and received them.
