How To Deal With A Thief?
 

I live in California and Thiers a guy who drives around young kids to steal local photographers equipment. They stole all my equipment the kids ran off and the guy picked up the kids with my equipment and later sold it.

The cops detained the adult who drives the kids around and released him because he was no longer in possession of my equipment. Naturally I hate the guy and I don't want him anywhere near me. He keeps coming to my work and threatens me and shines lasers in my eyes trying to blind me. He's mad that I went to the cops and that he has a reputation now for stealing. He sends me threats in text messages and everything. I try to ignore the guy but when he drives by gets out and shines shit in my eyes i call the cops.

The cops don't do jack shit even when I showed them the threats hes been sending me in text messages. They told me they would arrest me because hes accusing me of shit trying to tern the tables on me by lying.

What the hell do I do the cops wont do anything about it and hes damaging my eyes with the laser?

Or at least hire some muscle from the streets.

Someone that could rough him up a bit perhaps. Then he likely won't be back.

The guy weighs 4 lbs I'm skinny theirs not much I can do to him. If he was anywhere close to my weight I would have taken care of this a long time ago trust me. I'm trying to do everything legally because I have allot to lose financially.

Call the police and say he attacked you with a knife. They can't ignore that.

Make sure you have seen him near your property so he does not have an alibi.

Try and make sure someone else sees him near you as well.

I'm so mad at the guy if I had a gun id kill him. You can only defend yourself with a gun in California is if the guy breaks into your home and he has a weapon. I can't just carry a gun it's illegally to carry a gun with you or keep it in your car unless you have a special permit and those are hard to get

For a few grand you can set up numerous video cameras and set him up for the cops. For a few grand you can hire someone to break one of his elbows or knees.

I have personally seen a small guy, about 140lbs beat the living crap out of men that must have been pushing 250-300lbs, and were so called total badasses, who train for mma etc.

Here is what you do, when he is near you jump right onto him and dont let go. Push your thumbs into his eyes, not all the way. Punch him in the face as many times as you can. Now i have seen my friend do this several times to very large men, and all of them have only been concerned with getting away from my friend as quickly as they could. Some of them were even screaming. So, do not poke his eyes out, but a little pressure coupled with the words, im going to pop your eyes out. Will probably make him run away.

Stop thinking like that. Get yourself a gun in legal maner, invite him to your property to "discuss about situation", pull the gun out and tell him if you ever see him again you end him.

can't you get a restraining order. It wouldn't stop him but at least you have something on record and could have him arrested for violating it

Get a lawyer to talk the police. If you go with a lawyer and file a complaint, they will be forced to deal with it. Then if it does not stop you can get a restraining order and he will go to jail if he violates it. Keep it simple and to the point. He is threatening and harassing you.

Yes I'm going to go down to the court house on monday morning to apply for the restraining order. I just got back from the police station and filed a police report for the lazer which I will bring with the original theft report to the judge.

This guy has a huge record so I'm hoping he will violate the restraining order and they will throw him in jail

That's going to be my next step. If he's going to fuck with me I'll hit him with a small claims lawsuit and a restraining order. Collecting the money will be fun. Fuck up his credit, write my stolen equipment off as a write off for my taxes, hire a private investigator to follow him and find the guys who where with him, setup him up and record him stealing more shit, call the cops give them evidence and flip him off while they drag him to jail.

I'd have fun with this guy. Build some fake photo gear out of styrofoam and paint it. It doesnt have to look real up close, just from a few feet away. There is your bait. You can buy pepper-balls for paintguns. Just wait until the theif comes... or the kids, fuck it doesnt matter. Unleash on them. What are they going to do, say they came to steal your fake camera and they got pepperballed?

Then shine a laser in their eyes.

And to make it really good... leave the fake gear out somewhere with a slick surface for the floor, and butter the floor. Haha they wont even get to the fake camera without busting their ass.

Forget the lasers, just have video security cameras recording, get him on tape, call the cops.
