What that article doesn't mention is the mansion is ran like a hotel. There is a hospitality system that tracks everything Hef eats and he is presented a bill each month for rent and food and beverage. He doesn't have to pay if he's holding an event on behalf of Playboy. All of that had to happen when Playboy went public. Now that he took it private again it may have changed... Or maybe not since he didn't use all of his own money.

A really good friend of mine's wife is a chef. When she was in culinary school the last thing that they have to do is a 90 internship working at a restaurant. One of the places they could apply to do your internship was the Playboy Mansion. It was also one of the hardest to get. They had very strict guidelines, you had to be a 4.0 student and the application process was pretty intense. Her class had three people apply and none of them even got past the first phase.

Sounds pretty elite kane.
