Moving into 'Interesting Times'...
 

Anyone else think we are moving into interesting/dangerous times ?

For the first time since god knows how long, the US has lost control of NATO. It's not beyond the bounds of possibility that NATO may dissolve, or at least become irrelevant.

The UN is definately going to have far less influence/power after this mess & the US ignores it and attacks IRAQ.

The ME will, presumably, be a hot bed of discontent (read terrorism) after the Iraq attack.

Russia seems to be regaining confidence for the first time since the end of the cold war. A partnership with France & other Euro countries does not seem unlikely at this point. Possibly negating a fair bit of the cold war victory.



Is this a turning point in history ? Watch this space :)

As long as I don't have to go back to the army and defend my country, I'm doing just fine. That's all that matters... really matters that is.

It is becoming increasingly possible that our grandkids may live in a world where the EU (or whatever it becomes) is more powerful, both economically and militarily, than the U.S.

WTF good does NATO bring the U.S. anyway? Is France or Germany really going to help America if we are attacked?

California is being invaded by Mexico as we speak and I have yet to see one French or German soldier anywhere.
