Mailing Software besides PHP List

Any suggestions for a more sophisticated mailing software than PHP List. As some of what I mail is to my adult customers, obviously services like Chimp are not useful; I need a script I can run with my own mail servers. PHP List is okay, but I'd love to have something which a bit more ability to report open rates and such. Thanks all.

interspire, listmarketer..

RazorSharpe 05-10-2012 06:57 PM

I use http://www.interspire.com/emailmarketer/
You can use it with your own mailserver or with smtp.com
It's a great bit of software and it does the job!

Won't you get blocked even if the emails are valid?

livexxx 05-10-2012 08:07 PM

Ynotmail, they have a full API. I can add/delete/create campaigns, users and lists all via calls. Initiate campaigns and run triggers based on events. Plus the aggro taken out of white listing and unsubscribes, soft and hard bounces etc. More graphs than you can shake your head of marketing at

Sometimes probably, but isn't the alternative not contacting anyone?

Why would legit emails be blocked?

Bulk sending, same content matter spotted by hosting companies (hotmail, gmail), black listed IP, non-white listed IP, invalid headers, incorrect MX records, too high hard bounces etc. etc.

most important is you have access to the maillogs to determine bounce reasons.

I use SMTP to clear out the bounces and I definitely agree that being able to see what the reasons are has been super helpful in that area.

YNOT Mail does use a custom version of Interspire. And if you want to spend the time to install it, tweak it, learn it, and then be out of luck when it breaks down... That's the way to go. If you want to be up in running in the next twenty minutes hit me up.

I must admit when I used ynotmail, there was nothing about the installation that "looked" custom. It operated the same way as the usual Interspire Email Marketer which I am still using and it hasn't broken down.

You guys use smtp for relay and I can use smtp too directly and at a fraction of the cost. Example, you charge $400 for 200,000 relays while I can purchase 200,000 relays from SMTP for $240. I understand that you need to mark up and that's great but suggesting if people don't use Interspire through you, it will break down is silly IMO.
