Advertising on Consumption Junction?
One of consumption junctions advertising options is a 468x60 banner (site wide, not homepage) for $0.25 for 1000 page impressions. That'd be 400,000 page impressions for a banner for $100.
Has anyone tried this? Any ideas of how well this would do for a movie sponsor (not cookie cutter) with a decent banner? |
oops, spelled it wrong in the subject :glugglug

What's your disfunction?
|
depends on what the ad is for.. but i really dont see much conversion, the average cj surfer is 13-26 yo boys looking for free porn and shit to gross them out... I really don't see them buying much

Traffic Trader, not trying to flame or anything, but you're way off. A couple months ago we bought the Jupiter Media Metrix report on our site. You can see the results on our Demographics Page . Here's the age range:
: Age :: 18-24 29% 25-34 25% 35-44 32% 45-64 14% The traffic averages conversions of 1/250 for TrafficCashGold, TopBucks, and NastyDollars. Reality sites like CollegeFuckFest do even better. |
thats funny, so not one single surfer to the site is undr 18

In high school, everyone was surfing CJ. I'm sure you have a large audience of other ages as well, but... |
Actually, there was. It's not a poll. Jupiter Media Metrix tracks every move of over 100,000 surfers. They can tell you how long MS Word is open and in the background. The report did contain data on under 18, but it was less than 1%. Remember, we're talking about almost 7,000,000 people a month.

Anyone who has actually tried it.. has anything to say?
|
Just make sure you keep your eyes on it. They don't control all the ads on their site according to Marc so another advertiser ran the same ad right over mine. If I were to advertise their again I would ask for exclusivity during my advertising time. It was only for a day or so, that I could tell but sort of soured the experience. On the good side their traffic is very real as the people want to be there. Conversion is up to you but I got clicks.

Slapass, that customer running ads competing with yours was my fault. I should have been on top of that, and I apologize. As I said when you brought it to my attention, hit me up and I'll make it right. As for Quality MPEGS, check the thread at http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showt...threadid=106725 for posts from people using our traffic, or feel free to call me on my cel at 404-808-3187 and I'll be glad to give you a list with contact details.

Sorry if that seems harsher then it was. The ad was in rotation so I just let it go as it was very short term and rotated with many other ads. Sorry i mentioned it. The traffic is good at CJ.

And as Marc said below, CJ is definitely the type of company to make it right if something did go wrong. ~Alli |
I don't think I get *any* email from PlatinumBucks except for spam about CJ.

Those numbers are based on the program's stats. Different programs track using 1st page uniques, 2nd page raws, etc. To aggregate the data and compare apples to oranges, we simply take all the raw clicks we send to the programs in a 30 day period and the total # of joins. Understand this is averaging typically 750,000 clicks across 8 to 10 different affiliate programs. It winds up averaging from 1/300 to 1/500 off RAW clicks. We run pretty much everyone's programs. Anywhere from 25 to 50 different sites during the month. After 4 years of doing this, we know what converts and what doesn't off our traffic. That's the big difference when you buy ads from us. We'll scope out your site and figure out what is the best way to promote it. If we don't think it'll convert, wait--here's the difference, we'll actually tell you it won't convert. We'll tell you not to waste your money. How many people selling traffic do that?
|
Began advertising w/ them on 2/3. We typically see lower new joins in Feb vs Jan, but for the period 2/3-2/10 we are up $500 in new joins over the same days in January.
The Epoch affiliate program has only credited them for 4 joins, but I suspect the Epoch program uses a 24 hour cookie? and will be switching over to our own tracking scripts that not only cookies for 30 days but tracks IPs. Hopefully I will be able to attribute more of our increased sales to this advert. :) |

I have bought ad space from them a couple times with decent results. The thirty day programs work the best and coupled with two or three different types of sponsorships. We did a video sponsorship which went well. It had a ton of chicks right up front, without much luck, but we converted on it in the long long because it stays in the achive for at least 30 days. I think we still get hits off a couple of the video sponsorships we did with them and that was back in Nov.
If I were to do it again.. I would do the video sponsorship, with the cj's favorite links (text links). Text links seem to be a good way to go on that site. Better conversions over all. |
