This is a little different from the usual e-mails you would get from us. We recently parted our short but damaging relationship with Atlantic Pacific Entertainment, our booking/management agency. We know this ain?t really that entertaining, but a lot of people we stay in contact with are in bands or run websites, so:

1. We don?t want to see any more bands get fucked by these assholes. So we figured we would drop the 411 fo? yo? ass.

2. If you are a webmaster, or run a website ? you can help us take some harmful and much needed revenge on these assholes! (See the instructions on the bottom of the e-mail)

If you are solicited by a guy name Robert Divine, that works with a booking/music management company named Atlantic Pacific Entertainment, do not do business with this prick. The guy is a scam artist that pulls money from hungry bands, with the promise of professional representation, ?shopping them to music conventions?, booking tours, getting a record deal, or about a million other B.S. stories. His Modis Operondi is to ask for $300.00 (or as much as he thinks he can get) and will do NOTHING for you. That?s right he will take that money and do NOTHING! The guy DOES talk a mean game on the phone, so watch out!

We briefly did business with Robert Divine (aka Atlantic Pacific Entertainment) after we had already been recognized and played by Howard Stern on numerous occasions. We already had Stern?s attention and we asked Robert Divine to call the shows producers to see if we could get on the program (only so we would appear more professional, we could have made the call ourselves) That?s all he did for us. HE DID NOT GET US ON STERN. He will, however, (I?m sure) will brag to perspective clients that he ?got one of his bands on Howard Stern?. It?s all bullshit, all he did was made a phone call on our behalf. Our plan was to tour immediately following the Stern publicity, so that we could capitalize on the hype. He strung us along for months, with one excuse after another. We had been DIY, and would have continued had we not thought we had representation.

The fact is, the guy is a greedy, incompetent, lying bastard and a scam artist. He is only after easy money, does not care how he gets it, he has no clue about what?s going on in music today, is not afraid to waste your time, and has NO real connections in the music business. I explained to him how important it would be for us to be following up our Stern appearance with gigs in all of the Stern markets (I even provided him a list of cities). I made it clear that we didn?t want to be the band ?that was on the Stern Show 3 months ago??we wanted to be the band that was ?just on Stern?. People memories for something like this are only so long, and we need to (even in his words) ?to strike while the iron is hot.?

After realizing that our pay was not going from a few hundred dollars a gig to a few thousand dollars a gig; he dropped the ball on us, and was booking nothing, but was telling us he was. By the time I figured that out and started booking shows again, it would be for gigs will not be rolling around until April and May?the exact thing I was trying to avoid!!

I wouldn?t be so pissed about this, had I called him. The fact is: he came to us with a fist full of empty promises. From what I understand, he is still HEAVILY soliciting bands for this same scam. If you look on the website www.atlanticpacificent.com you will see where it says, ?Representing World Class Talent Since 1987?. Here?s a little fact you need to know Robert Divine (Aka Atlantic Pacific Entertainment): This lying fuck in prison from 1989 up until a few months ago for drug charges. Having had been in that position myself, I am not one to slight a person with a shady past that is trying to do right. If they are trying to run an honest business?cool, but that is not the case here!! He makes his living booking such dinosaur bands such as Nazareth, Molly Hatchet, Rick Derringer, and Georgia Satellites that probably still owe him for some devil?s dandruff he?d served up in the 80?s and RIPPING YOUNGER BANDS OFF!! MOSTLY RIPPING YOUNGER BANDS OFF!!

Many bands have contacted me about them, asking what they?ve been doing for us, and so on. That is the whole reason I?ve spent this much time exposing this scam. I?m sure he?s pulling plenty of shit I don?t know about too!! If you are in a band don?t let these idiots waste your time and money, like they did for us. I?m not so pissed about the money, my job as an internet pornographer is quite lucrative (I do know that 300$ is a shit ton of money to a struggling band though). Take my advice, spend the 15$ and register for the SWSX yourself! THAT?S ALL HE WILL DO FOR YOU! It pisses me off that he completely fucked us at a pivotal point in our career - WHAT A PIECE OF SHIT!

If I was in the same room with him I probably would be swinging on this bastard, but I figure the best thing I can do is fuck him out of his livelihood the same way he tried to fuck us out of ours. I?ve made a living getting high demand keywords to go to the top of search engines, now I?m gonna MAKE HIM KNEEL BEFORE THE MERCILESS GOOGLE GODS. This will make it a lot harder for him to continue ripping off bands that are already struggling hard enough! To quote ACDC, ?It?s a long way to the top if you wanna rock n? roll?? and we don?t need Atlantic Pacific Entertainment making it any harder!!

We had a guy blow into our town about 15 years ago and did a scam against all the local bands. I was running a sound company and worked with a popular local band that got caught up in the game. This guy ripped about 20-30 bands out of money and local businesses doing close to the same scam. Was fun to be around all the parties and stuff though, Ate good, made some decent $$ when he was showing off. I was lucky and jumped out when started to hear rumors of his past and a lot of his sources didn't pan out.

That sucks and there is always a prick looking to rip local bands, but on the flip, many bands have record deals in there eyes and don't always think straight.

Yeah - that's my thing. The money don'y really matter to me. Webmastering has actually been good to me. Most guys in bands don't have 2 pennies to rub together - that's what sux!

Im a vocalist in a grindcore band in australia, dividebyzero. we are lucky, but we know other bands who have been shafted hard.

That's me at #2. Most over that ranking is from building a good internal links with the term in it.

Not that it was a hard term to get, but the page was index by Google in the middle of last week (I put it up Monday of last week). Originally, I left the word "sucks" off of the title, but added it later. The SERPs showed both between then and now.
