I saw a press screening of Daredevil tonight...
 

Very cool movie. They stuck really close to the Frank Miller Bullseye/Death of Elektra storyline. I think this one is going to be a hit like Spider-Man was, and they definitely left it open for a sequel if they can afford to get Ben Affleck back after he gets a big salary boost if the box office on this one goes as high as I think it will. I'm guessing it will approach $200 million.

I finished the book & I can't wait to see the movie. The book was cooler than i thought it would be.

Ben Affleck was the fat mall clerk who liked to fuck chicks in the ass and then got fucked in the ass in prison in Mallrats. Then he was in a few other over-the-top Kevin Smith movies, which I like but they are not high art, they are dick and fart joke movies.

Kevin Smith also has a small role in the film since he was instrumental in getting Affleck to take the part.

Why? He's an excellent actor. Just further proving that he can play a variety of character types.

I was hoping he would have taken the Hulk role.

One small problem for me already as a comic book collector is that Carlton Fisk (aka The Kingpin) is black. In the comic books he's white. :2 cents:

That may be true, but they guy they got to play him seems like a good choice either way. As long as he can play the character, that's what matters. I don't really know how well he does it, as I haven't seen the movie, but he seems like a good choice. Who would you have reccomended?

One of the perks of owning a comic shop is I get to go to all the comic/sci-fi/horror movies before the general public. The promotion companies send me tickets for myself and all our employees because they know we will talk to our customers about these movies and spread the word. They also sent me 100 passes to pass out to my customers, so we held a raffle and sent a few people from each of our 5 stores. The theatre was filled to capacity so I guess there wasn't a lot of press (local film critics, tv stations, whatever) interest.

I wonder why they're not really pumping that movie like other movies though, I remember Spiderman was EVERYWHERE before it hit theatures and heck, look at The Hulk, I went into Wal-Mart the other day and they have a shitload of Hulk toys everywhere, inlcuding these huge green fists, which look fucking retarded, ha ha ha. I didn't see much for Daredevil.

I suppose that it's because Daredevil isn't as well known to people ???
