GoDaddy backorders are a joke
So I had a domain backordered, was due to delete today and registered with GoDaddy.
I backordered it about 6 weeks ago before it got into redemption period, I knew it'd probably hit auction but I thought what the hell. I get the emails from GoDaddy when the status changes so I wait for details of the auction. Checked an hour ago and it was picked up by backorderzone.com. 7 people in the auction but they want fucking credits to get in and it's open to the public (GoDaddy is closed to those who backordered). So what the fuck. GoDaddy can't even catch names regged with themselves. |
It's a big gamble backordering domains.

Catching domain drops comes down to how many credentials (login & passwords) the company has, works almost like lotto tickets. There are two big co's that have bought them all up so you need to use one of them if you want a real chance. I think it's namejet and snapnames still, although I'm a little out of date on the info.

snapnames, namejet, etc...

I have picked up few good domains from GD and grabbed them for cheap. You need to use the big boys if you really want a domain bad and its going to cost you.

Instead it went to this third-party nobody company. |
Godaddy backorders will beat out hand registrations, sometimes. It's no good for anything else.
