Hells YES! I know EXACTLY what you are talking about!

When we were in Vegas for Internext I had to go across the street to the CVS pharmacy to get my coke so I could get the Mexican version. It's soooooo much better tasting!!

LOL Chris made fun of me for doing that, but my tastebuds were happy with me :winkwink:

Shotsie 04-25-2012 12:20 PM

I think it's just got sugarcane in it instead of fructose syrup, like that throwback stuff.

Chris 04-25-2012 12:23 PM

LOL ruth was so excited when she found mexican coke in vegas.

beerptrol 04-25-2012 12:25 PM

cartels probably dissolve some of the bodies of their rivals at the production plant and mix it into the coke to give it that flavor

LeRoy 04-25-2012 12:25 PM

Oh the soda :winkwink:

Yah that does taste pretty good!

It just has that wayback kind of taste, coming out of those small greenish hue bottles:thumbsup

Choopa Phil 04-25-2012 12:39 PM

This thread is totally making me crave a coke right about now

My thought as well. The sniff sniff or burp burp kind? ha

Been down there a few times, always heard the penalty for the getting caught with the wrong one is pretty steep.

Anyway yes, Mexican coke (a-cola), great stuff.

PR_Glen 04-25-2012 12:40 PM

we use cane sugar in canada too, wonder if it tastes the same as over there..

Aha! I never actually knew that, but that makes sense to me. I had no problem with Coke in Canada, and I have no problem with Coke in Mexico, but when I had Coke in the US I really didn't like it.

I've said the same thing to my friends and family about Mexican Coke tasting so great.

Tom_PM 04-25-2012 01:00 PM

Man, I remember trying that pepsi throwback and it took me back to my childhood in one taste. I haven't had a soda/pop in years now, but I sure remember that.

Same here. I still remember the first time I traveled to the states, bought a coke and figured there was something wrong with the bottle.

kal86 04-25-2012 01:54 PM

i gotta try it

uno 04-25-2012 02:14 PM

I like diet mexican coke even better.

Blingbaby 04-25-2012 02:16 PM

It's always better in the bottle for some reason.

digitalfantasies 04-25-2012 02:19 PM

ow.. you guys are talking about soft drink... I will leave this thread...

Tofu 04-25-2012 02:24 PM

I buy that stuff by the pallet at Costco! I don't even like Coke, but mexican coke is the BUSINESS!

uniquemkt 04-25-2012 02:29 PM

Wish I could get it here, I drink the hell out of Pepsi Throwback and a really good local brand.. Fuck HFCS!

It's not the bottles, the the drink inside - They make it differently in Mexico. Tastes great.

d-null 04-25-2012 02:54 PM

they use real old fashioned regular sugar in it, that's why it tastes so much better :2 cents:

jarritos are good too

MrBottomTooth 04-25-2012 02:59 PM

I don't think Canadian coke is any different from us coke. Its just that in Canada there are no laws in place that require mfgs to state specifically whether they are using high fructose corn syrup or regular sugar/glucose. If the label doesn't specifically state cane sugar then you are probably getting hfcs.

Edit: I see someone already mentioned this

This seems borderline criminal, considering the increasing rate of corn allergies. Corn is fairly unique in its ubiquitousness, you rarely find peanuts or shellfish in unexpected places, but with a corn allergy you can never skip reading an ingredients list. Ironic that the USA won't let the Corn industry obfuscate its usage like that, when we're the ones who propped corn up as a replacement for just about anything.

also something that would be interesting, is how much of the high fructose corn syrup that is being fed to the public by the millions of gallons is actually from GMO corn?

pornguy 04-25-2012 03:37 PM

The big difference in coke here in Mex is that it is the old and real recipe. They never got new coke and then classic coke that was a mix of things. its the same and has been.

Mexico is one of the biggest consumers of coke in the world and I believe even ahead of the US.

SPP 04-25-2012 03:37 PM

I like Coce in glass, it's just better!

onwebcam 04-25-2012 03:42 PM

Yeah there's an authentic mexican restaurant down the street I go to once a week that sells it. Good stuff.

That is exactly why. We get the sugarcane coke in Thailand too.

The container plays a great part in it. Although Mexican coke taste good because it doesn't use corn syrup, a teetotal friend of mine only drinks coke. He can, and I've tested him, can differentiate between every type of packaging. Can, bottle, plastic bottle, 2 litre bottle, everything.

I think your right. I'm not sure if I could tell them apart, but I swear bottles taste best.

DamianJ, been trying to get ahold of you, magic man! Hit my ICQ, FB or skype, please. Thank you. :)

L-Pink 04-25-2012 05:17 PM

I had no idea.

.

Erik_ 04-25-2012 07:43 PM

Yep, it's WAY better. It's because they use real sugar, not corn syrup. I get it at the grocery stores in Colorado.

Vendzilla 04-25-2012 09:00 PM

I worked for Coca Cola for 9 years, I have a refurbished 66 cavalier coke machine that despenses 8 oz glass bottles. Coke has a bunch of different recipes. It differs depending on the country. They even still have the new coke in some places. Rule--Plastic bottle, corn sugar Glass bottle, Cane Sugar

SleazyDream 04-25-2012 09:04 PM

just like beer, it's better drank out of glass than plastic or aluminum.
