Panda Update has begun

I am seeing some really fucked up changed in my SERP's ... in stead of rewarding sites with a lot of unique texts like they said... looks like g00gle is punishing mine at the moment...

who's next

19teenporn 04-25-2012 08:58 AM

You're fucked.

yes, that is what I am hoping too, it's just at this time it looks like only my site has been deleted from page 1, it is somewhere at page 16 now :s
the rest is unaffected. Even spam sites are still there???

Well, nothing I can do now but wait

Klen 04-25-2012 10:02 AM

Problem with this panda update it doing a lot of collateral damage.

Rochard 04-25-2012 10:04 AM

I do everything all natural now. No link trading at all.

Fat Panda 04-25-2012 10:06 AM

But how else you would get backlinks without trading/buying links ??Especially when competition buys tons of them.

I've been seeing some controverisal results of this changes that others pointed out such as:
"1. "Make Money Online"

Search Google for "make money online" and check out this site that's currently ranking on page one:

makemoneyforbeginners.blogspot.com

It's blank. 110,000 exact-match global searches a month for that phrase, and Google's showing a blank blog on page one. Wow."
this is exactly what I see in my serps, really relevant webcam searches show these type of bullshit sites, it starts already on page 1 and continues to page 10

So my handwritten blog that has been successful for years drops 10 pages... crappy sites that make no sense at all take my place...

WTF g00gle... this is not helping anyone

Thats not Bamboo!!

Edit: Or was that the joke?

digitalfantasies 04-25-2012 10:16 AM

Quoted for truth:

"Google is trying to make it easier for us to be rewarded for creating awesome content but looking at the affects of this change I can only see pointless sites with poor content and completely irrelevent to my search term."

e-god 04-25-2012 10:22 AM

Its not Panda, check out Another step to reward high-quality sites post by Matt Cutts.

Current serps are funny, check out 'make money online', 1st result is empty blogspot blog with one word 'Make'. :1orglaugh

Also viagra keywords looks terrible, lots of hacked sites and major authority site viagra.com is gone.

CyberHustler 04-25-2012 10:33 AM

you seeing an increase in blogger sites?

interesting my friend interesting.

CyberHustler 04-25-2012 10:51 AM

I don't use blogger. Only google service I use is gmail and the search engine. :pimp

DamageX 04-25-2012 10:54 AM

FYI this update is a clusterfuck and Google themselves admitted to it, albeit not in those exact words. So sit tight, don't do anything stupid and wait for the next update which is due shortly.

VenusBlogger 04-25-2012 10:56 AM

Google is in motion 24/7/365

Talking about google update a few times per month is so "2005"...

They change/tweak/improve the algo every single day.

smutnut 04-25-2012 10:56 AM

Hasn't this been going on for a couple years now?

That's probably what happened to the SERPS

Fucking cunts, I cant find my weightloss website on the 15 first pages under my main keyword, it used to be #3, however the subpages seem to rank decent.

bns666 04-26-2012 03:27 AM

Don't panic, just sit tight for a few days and see what happens.

Then panic.

hurrah for search engine monopoly

OneWhoKnows 04-26-2012 06:41 AM

Welcome to the club. My biggest site went from No. 1 to No. 9 for its main keyword and probably falling. Others who have alway been close behind me also dropped, now Redtube is No. 1. YAY!

However, I still don't know if this is because of Panda or because of the ongoing server issues I have this week.

It's because of panda,end of story :)

AaronM 04-26-2012 08:12 AM

A fellow GFYer "helped" one of my pages to reach a #2 listing by employing some black hat techniques. It has stayed there for over 2 years. Now, it's on page 6.

However, I have many other top 10 SE results that got to where they are naturally and although they are moving around a little, most of them are still on the first page.

Overall, I'm not seeing much impact and what I am seeing is deserved. I'm VERY happy that I did not take that persons advice and learn how to do the crooked shit as right about now things would be totally fucked. :2 cents:

I posted about this in another thread a few days ago. I see some shitty pages with no content (just links) hosted on the first page for their kw. Funny thing is that I even found a referal link indexed on a good position for the site name (very popular one), which must bring some nice sales for the lucky bastard. I was hit too, but that happened like a month ago.

Barry-xlovecam 04-26-2012 08:30 AM

Some of these may relate to the problems

Quote:

Tweaks to handling of anchor text. [launch codename "PC"] This month we turned off a classifier related to anchor text (the visible text appearing in links). Our experimental data suggested that other methods of anchor processing had greater success, so turning off this component made our scoring cleaner and more robust.

Improvements to freshness in Video Universal. [launch codename "graphite", project codename "Freshness"] We?ve improved the freshness of video results to better detect stale videos and return fresh content.

Fewer undesired synonyms. [project codename "Synonyms"] When you search on Google, we often identify other search terms that might have the same meaning as what you entered in the box (synonyms) and surface results for those terms as well when it might be helpful. This month we tweaked a classifier to prevent unhelpful synonyms from being introduced as content in the results set.

Improvements to freshness. [launch codename "Abacus", project codename "Freshness"] We launched an improvement to freshness late last year that was very helpful, but it cost significant machine resources. At the time we decided to roll out the change only for news-related traffic. This month we rolled it out for all queries.

More precise detection of old pages. [launch codename "oldn23", project codename ?Freshness"] This change improves detection of stale pages in our index by relying on more relevant signals. As a result, fewer stale pages are shown to users.

I don't think tubes are the ones that are hurt now...

anyway: today my bitchslapped site went from page 6 to page 4 for my best keyword phrase, at least that is something...

I will start reviewing all my articles today and delete "over-optimized" keyword phrases

Changes have always had collateral damages, I guess the only thing to do is wait and see.

anexsia 04-26-2012 11:25 AM

I didn't notice any changes yesterday but I just checked two of my main blogs and they've gained a good amount of extra traffic :)

seeric 04-26-2012 11:26 AM

started on monday about 8pm. will roll through early next week or so and then you'll probably still will see some movement as they push those updates out to all the data centers, etc.

they have a hard on big time for splogs, comment spammers, etc. this update is annihilating affiliates that are part of the smash and grab crowd, on both sides of the world, adult and non.

Long time no talk. How you been Aaron? :)

The crooked stuff is ok, if that is the game you're playing. When you play that game you buy throwaway domains, smash the shit out of them, collect your money for 3-4 months, and by the time its' gone, you have another one coming up in the rankings just like it for when the first one gets destroyed.

Those dark arts are just fine for stuff like penis pills, viagra, pay day loans, etc, anything that is lead generation and you don't want to brand.

Whoever the knucklehead was that suggested you blackhat a domain that is possibly your brand is pretty much brain dead.

Black hat is like witchcraft. In the wrong hands you can really mess shit up, and not in a good way.

Hope you're well!
