Not when there is a billion people worth $4.81 a pop.
By the time you figure out bandwidth used, ads clicked, etc... I am surprised it's that much. People there aren't buying shit, but there are always suckers. I mean think about how MUCH fucking traffic they get and how many videos, pictures, etc they host. Come on... A lot of suckers.
I think Facebook is dumb, but many do not. It's a traffic hog but monetarily it is like what my Dad used to say. This is not verbatim, but it went something along the lines of, "I wish Disney World would sell me a 10'x10' piece of land in the center of the park... I would charge $10 for ice cream cones..." I'd be like, $10? He would say, "Yeah, when you have a couple hundred thousand people walking by your stand daily, eventually someone will buy..."
He was right, hence the traffic hog business models today. Manwin and places such as Facebook ARE the ten dollar ice cream stand in the middle of Disney World.
