I think you're pushing the rules.

xxxdesign-net 02-10-2003 04:46 PM

original spam...? not even...

XXXManager 02-10-2003 04:48 PM

Hey people
I have 1 button which is exactly 120*60
I have only 3 lines of text
Dr_Ace: :winkwink: Beside the fact that you don't like the way it looks...
Can someone tell me if its not right with the rules - and if then why not?

PS!
I am hardly spamming. check previous posts of people complaining + it was reset by the webmasters to "Sig too big" + the fact that my sig was really bigger in the past.

AaronM 02-10-2003 04:50 PM

I would spell tomorrow correctly if I were you.

Tomottow just does not sound as good.

Babaganoosh 02-10-2003 04:55 PM

Three lines of text default color and size are in the rules too.

Nysus 02-10-2003 05:01 PM

Hey,

Just get rid of the space below..

Btw, I know it's default..

Cheers,
Matt

I've changed my mind. Even when I make my browser window as wide as it needs to be, I see six lines of text. They just happen to be in two columns. Given all the resizing, recoloring, and whatnot, I think you're more than pushing it.

Hey Matt
What space below?

And Gothweb: what 6 lines? What resolution are you working with? Anyone else see 6 lines???

If you made your text the default size (and color) I doubt there would be a problem.

My sig is 3 lines.
Not only that but (like yours) they are on the left of my button, so it takes even less space.
my button is a tiny 1.5K (I think yours is about 50K? - btw nice photography going on in your sig button :thumbsup ) so basically it takes small spacce and bandwidth. I can see much worse cases of pushing the rules on this board - I'm sure you will agree

Hmm. You think that when they said defaut size they meant smaller one is not allowed? or they more aimed and "do not blow it with font-size:30px"??
The only non-standard color I have though is the right side thingy, which is the only thing that is not totally white in my sig (trying to give it a little life). I did not use screaming yellow or red.
I see alot of this here on people's sig.

Okay, have it your way. Just don't post another thread when you either get banned or your signature gets reset again. :1orglaugh

I numbered the lines because it seems you can't count properly. Anyway, what beats me is why are you so interested to push the lines to the max? You even need to make threads to see if you're allowed to have your mega-sig? Ask Lensman, I'm sure he'll make you a good price on those banners at top :)

gothweb 02-10-2003 05:53 PM

When I make the window full-width, your sig appears on three lines. However, the two different columns give the effect of more text. It feels cluttered, like you are, at the very least, pushing the limits.

Let me show you what it looks like in my standard browser window. I think you will see what is wrong...

http://www.blood-dolls.net/xxxman.jpg

You may be within the limits, or close. And there are certainly worse sigs on this board. However, since you asked whether we think your sig is OK, I answered your question. "No." You asked.

psyko514 02-10-2003 06:00 PM

It also depends on the text size of IE. Mine is set to Smaller and I'm on 1024x768

I see 3 lines of text.

XXXManager 02-10-2003 06:34 PM

Looking at the board at 800*600 both gothweb and many others have 4 lines of text if not more.

harvey - I have no idea why the table in your 1152*1024 didnt stretch to fill the width of the screen. that is bizzare.

Even though - Line broken - my sig is still "shorter" in height than most of the sigs here.

I work 1024*768 and it works just fine with 3 lines..
In any case I have force font-sizes.. can anyone tell me if he see more than 3 lines now on 1024?

Yeah, but you do it in creative ways that people hardly notice it. What you do is called innovative marketing and people hardly complain about your posts/spams as opposed to someone like Pimpdog who blatantly spams but his controversy probably gets about the same amount of attention. It's all about how you get your message across.
