It's a good idea, but badly executed and terribly explained in his blog.

The embarrassed looks he was getting from people in the video tell a lot. It looks like something that was thrown together with little cash and less thought.

Marketing is about "Marketing is defined by the AMA as "the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large."

Being cost effective, a good ROI, etc can be cheap. You just don't announce it to the world as a solution for people with no money for marketing or that you're the person if you have no money. Then link it to one of your sponsors.

The cheapest solution is the best one.

It's like saying "If you've got very little money for content, employ me. Like pornxyz.com do."

Idea sure sounds great. Next to a big banner of freeones.com, he writes Ivor Cash in Envelope. This Amsterdam seems more pornographic than some other cities.

Yes the actual idea of putting on something eye catching is great. You have to get someones attention to gain their interest in what you have to sell. IMO Damian would of done better putting on free magic shows and including 3wayscash promos in the act. Something other than the usual "We are here, Give us a try." approach. Maybe launching a new site.

Getting people looking at you is step 1, lot more to marketing than that.
