Opinions on join page requested
Hey folks.
I've been messing around with my join pages again this week and I'm torn between two. So I would like opinions from a surfers point of view and a webmasters point of view. Ie Are the options easy to understand. 1) http://join.kinkykicks.net/signup/si...MC4wLjA&step=2 This is the current live join page I'm running with at the moment and have been for a while. It's powered by NATS and I've omitted the user / pass box. It has converted pretty well in the past, although this week has been very up and down! 2) http://join.kinkykicks.net/signup/si... =join_basic2 This is what I have been playing with today. I see a lot of the bigger sites using this sort of setup. Ie. user / pass / email input boxes with radio buttons for join options and have attempted to set something up similar. How do you think it looks? Does this sort of pre-join form convert better? As a surfer does 1 or 2 seem better to you? As a webmaster would you prefer using one style over the other? Please give me your input. Hopefully I have not made too many mistakes. Its almost 4am here and my eyes are going! Thanks. |
It is totally confusing for the user.
It sat there clicking $29.95 for 30 days recurring button 2 or 4 times before I noticed you have to click it to hi light it then click join again Total nightmare I would guess you would cut your joins in half if you use this form Do not be offended. I am trying to help you make money use what users are used too |
I'm not offended at all.
That's exactly the sort of feedback I need. Thanks. |
second one for sure.
|
Looks like join pages for two different sites. The first leather clad lesbians. The second has a male submissive in each photo, obvious Fem-Dom.
Go with the second. Your future customer see's what he is interested in as he joins. . |
Thanks for the input guys.
I showed one of my friends today and he preferred the first! :Oh crap I've asked the opinion of another couple of guys I know interested in this niche and I'll try and make the right decision on which version to settle on. Personally I prefer the second one too. |
I like the first one (but think they are both too busy), but don't listen to any of us.
A/B test them. That is the only way you're going to know which one is better. |

If you think both of those are busy though take a look at http://join.kinkykicks.net/signup/si...=2&tpl =join2 I went live with this one for a couple of days last week and it didn't do too well. I decided that this one really is too busy! |

Honestly, the best thing you can do is test each and every one of them with a decent amount of traffic, at least enough to make a valid test. Many times the page, ad, form, or whatever that I thought was the best, wasn't the best. |
dude... both of those SUCK
you got more texts and different eye catching textlines than any news portal simplify it: - join options (month, 3 months.. whatever) - a nice box with - when you join: you get this, this this, and that (bulleted) - a few decoration pics - super small support/whatever texts below there ya go, I just improved your conversions by frikkin 500% |
OK, based on everyones input I have built another pre-join page at http://join.kinkykicks.net/signup/si...=2&tpl =join4
It's based on the second example and I've tried to make it less busy. Going to go live with this shortly and hopefully it will do OK. |

everything you say, or they say is subjective. Everything a marketing person says is also subjective. I've yet to see in adult people truly define user voices for customers and personality profiles or employ behavioural psychologists. I could be wrong, but bear with me.
Basically it is all bollocks, even A/B testing is partially crap. although you are trying to present two hugely different designs here, so the 1st step is an A.B for both designs that gives a starting point. Too much credence is given to Hippos. Highly Inflated Paid Peoples Opinions, or the Boss as they are normally known as. I am going to write an article on why multi variate testing is the only way to proceed with your A and your B. You should be testing X*Y*Z*A n! variants on both A & B forks, instead of guessing, you can bask in the knowledge that maths will resolve your questions unequivocally. (OK black swan events = whales as the exception). Plain speak, test 100's of variations of A and 100's for B and then make an informed decision. I will relent in so much as a marketing person can give you variant solutions on what "may" work and you can put these in as experimental steps. but the final result is based on facts. SO, first things first, are you on google analytics, then look up MVT |

I don't like check either (massive, massive chargebacks with ccbill. I had to just eliminate it all together)... if you want to do check, offer it as a backup solution and go with someone like http://www.achdebit.com/ |
Didn't read it all but it looks confusing!
Too many buttons. Try to cut down. ie pay by echeck should be alternate payment with the telephone, not up with CCs. Thats where I would put it anyways. Also all the shit at the bottom. Not sure what your processors require but id put one support button that then had all the support options in it. Idk if they require it like that though. FYI: I do not run an adult paysite |
I like join page #2, because it shows the form at the top of the page. Instantly, users see the option to enter username, password and email and to click join. Payment type is credit card. The kinky images in the middle of the page are high quality.
A clickable box in #1 that says $29.95 for 30 days recurring is not such a good idea. It is a better idea to make a drop down box in #2 with options to choose price. This one looks more user friendly. It is better to navigate. |
Doesn't matter two shits what anyone here thinks. Read livexxx's post 3 times, and do what he says.
|
Do you have magic join pages? If not, your good.
|
OK, finally version is http://join.kinkykicks.net/signup/si...MC4wLjA&step=2
Thanks to all who have made valid points. I've spent far too long on this and messed it up earlier today and couldn't process due to missing a <form tag. I'm happy with this now and need to start channelling my efforts into other areas. Cheers :thumbsup |
