Doing what you want, when you want to do it. Not answering to anyone. Lot's of money isn't the key. Having total control of your life is.

but what is freedom? being glued to a desk every day is not freedom.

i took a year off from work a few years back and it was awesome, luckily now with mobile giving us such advances we can manage more things away from desk. I love checking my emails at the park while my lil girl runs around on the playset... these times are not only precious, many miss out on them entirely because they are stuck in an office at a desk.

being able to work whenever i want and spend all day with my family is most important thing in life.

On the surface I'd say taking a hobby that literally started on a shoe-string budget and making a six-figure income with it by the fourth year.

But in actuality...the real success was simply being my own boss during the process, not answering to anyone. Making my own mistakes and learning by them. Proving naysayers wrong along the way.

That is my key goal.A total control.

success is being at peace with yourself and the ones you love..money amounts have nothing to do with it anymore..I've had ten times more money than I do now, but was less happy and felt less successful...today I feel on top of the world

Live, love, serve. Financially, it's simply about not worrying, to me, about having enough to pay the mortgage on our modest home without stress. I'd much rather have a paid off used car than a new Lexus and a $40,000 balance due that I'm worried about.

Being in a position where I can move out to nowheresville to be a fisherman and shit like that... living in a house on a hill overlooking the ocean with a nice track leading down to the water, owning a little boat & beatup pickup truck that still works great, growing my own fruit & veg, tending to chickens, shit like that. If I have a wife and a couple of daughters, then even better. If not, at least I have my right hand... or left hand if some shit goes wrong with the fishing gig.

Funny thing is that it takes money, real money, to no longer be concerned about money. Another alternative is Xanax.

Health is the starting point but humans need more than good health to feel happy and successful. Of course when you're seriously ill your perspective changes and good health alone can make you happy - but that won't last forever.

that's your definition of success, others have much different definitions for themselves.

If we named them they'd automatically fall in the "famous" category.

but there is loads of successful people, Olympic Medal winners come to mind, who aren't particularly rich or famous, I'd call their achievement a "success" over some random Z list celeb or rich guy any day.
