Make the switch...

...to Linux. Today, I'm celebrating my 40th day of continuous uptime on my desktop, with no signs of trouble. (I know, it's not that much, and I could go a great deal longer)
I can really recommend it to anyone who wants to live a crashless life.

Tried doing that 2 years ago but the driver support ( video and ethernet ) wasn't very good and I gave up after a few hours of fucking with it. Gotten much better since then ?

I'm have RedHat 8 now for my normal desktop, and setup of everything was easier than with windows.

Well we had a Windows 2000 server windows 2000 pro network, and the uptime was last week 189 days.

So windows can be good as well :)

That's a server. This is a desktop, running all kinds of shit.

(my personal server, running debian, has not had downtime yet, except for downtime caused by physically moving the thing)

did you write down when you restarted it? win2k resets its ticks after i think 7 weeks... so after 49 days it would appear you just restarted
