I think this is the best series ever (Okay Boardwalk Empire too), but I hated this sword and medieval bullshit but these characters are just top awesome!!!

This is the greatest series ever. I wish I hadn't read the 1000 page novels LOL.

The show is sooooo good. Its biggest problem is that every week it ends way too quickly! The episodes should be like 3 hours long each! The 50-minutes goes by so fast I can't even enjoy it being so quick.

Great, now I've gotta download Boardwalk Empire because I've never seen it... how many seasons?

I am currently reading the second book and have the third waiting.. Need to buy the other 2 as soon as I find them.

Fourth and Fifth book don't deliver the way the first three do. You won't believe the shit that goes down in the third. 2nd is pretty good too, but next season will be the balls if they stick to the books.

Hopefully he can pick it up in 6 and 7 cause I have a feeling they might start losing the audience in season 4 and 5. Just my opinion of course :2 cents:

Thing I love about this series is it reminds me of THE WIRE in the way the shit you want to happen to certain characters doesn't and shit happens to characters you don't want it to. Really keeps you watching.

Yeah I was loving the books up until those books....the series takes a dive around then.

I watched the whole first season in one weekend in the "On Demand" section of my cable. This season, I am recording 2 or 3 episodes then watching because I don't like to just watch one.

Have read all the books and agree that he is seemingly losing control of the characters by book number 5. Would love for him to be able to pull it all together and wrap up some amazing finish over the final 2 or 3 books of the series (which will probably take at least another 10 years to write)

I concur. Best series ever for real. I enjoy every piece of it even moar than Lord of the Rings movie, and books rock even moar. Good play of actors is what makes it pleasure to watch. I haven't started to watch season 2 though, I will wait for DVD and free time which I don't have right now.

There are supposed to be 7 books total not counting the spin offs and side notes, but I'm seeing the series ending around season 5 and the last two books being squeezed into a 3 hour theatrical release.

I think his lose of audience is due to some of the characters he killed off during the course of things (which personally I liked and I liked the way he changed the remaining ones, but the newer ones never had the punch (most of them anyway) the original ones had)

I was never a fan of this stuff. Never liked LORD OF THE RINGS to be honest, but GAME OF THRONES has the best character development since THE WIRE or DEADWOOD

Course they have full seasons (10 hours) to develop each book as compared to the few hours Jackson had for LORD OF THE RINGS, but even with that, the characters in GAME OF THRONES just seem more realistic to me even though the world is fantasy

Even BREAKING BAD sort of ruined it for me with the last couple episodes last season which I think made the rest of the season seem illogical. Fortunately there is only one more season for BREAKING BAD

i've read up to mid way through book 5, but have to stop reading while the second season is on, as it's too much to see the characters on tv when you know what's ahead for them.. this season started a bit slowly, but really picked up it's game this week..

I suggest you savor the remaining chapters of book 5 sloooowwwwlyyyy. Because book 6 is a long way off yet, as far as I've heard.

If he takes too long the child actors on the show will be too old to play their own parts by the later seasons.
