Tips for renting in Las Vegas

Hello everyone.
I am looking to rent a house/condo in Las Vegas, but everything I find online seems to be slum houses and nasty old apartments.

Does anyone have an area to recommend or a website to suggest that has nice, quality homes or condos/apartments in Las Vegas NV?

Go to Caesar's, tell the front desk you want a 3 bedroom suite and to put it on my account.

There are a lot of great areas here in Vegas. Hit me up and I can try to point you in the right direction

Depends on your circumstances. Do you have kids? How many bedrooms? Suburbs/action? Budget?

If you have kids and want to be in the burbs you can find a 3 bedroom house in Henderson/Green Valley (about 15 min from the strip) for $1100 - $1500 depending on the neighborhood and pool/no pool.

If you don't have any kids and want to be closer to the action I hear The Martin or Vdara has nice condos available. Anywhere from $1500 for a one bedroom all the way up to $10k plus a month. The Martin is on the west side of the 15 overlooking City Center. Vdara is in City Center. Can get cheaper rents on cool condos in the downtown area. The Ogden is a cool building near the arts district that is part of the new downtown project funded by Zappos. Near boutique bars but still kind of a rough area and wouldn't recommend it if you have kids.

If you want to live on the strip you can rent a brand new corner unit in the Veer towers for 2250/mo

It's a good time to rent in LV. All those foreclosed condos and houses are being bought up as rental units.

Even better deals if you can buy. I was looking the other day and a house I bought for $525,000.00 in 2005 just sold for $269,000.00 in November 2011. Houses that were 250k then are going for around 120k.

Rents have not dropped much during the last 6-7 years, but buying prices have dropped by 50% or more.

Why rent? Aren't nice homes like $50,000?
