Whats the 'lghtest' prog that will deal with PSD's?

I am going to Blackpool for a few days and want to take my NetBook - Photoshop is sooo slow it hurts.

What else handles PSDs well?

find an older version of photoshop tbh. prob would be faster. or possibly try gimp but i dont imagine it would be faster

Fireworks also is lighter than Photoshop.

I can get the 30 day free trial as well, I only need it for a few days - Adobe have had enough of my cash :)....
