What domains registrars offer free lifetime WHOIS-protection?

I dont care about "get one free year"-stuff or coupons. What domains registrars offer free lifetime WHOIS-protection?

As a general rule - do not buy domains from hosting companies. There may be exceptions, but in general better buy at "normal" registrar.

What about www.1and1.com, they offer free protection but I dont know if it's for the first year or so... Anyone know?

You'd better stay FAR away from 1 & 1. :2 cents:

Plenty of bad stories floating around the forums - about them not letting your domains transfer out etc etc.

Name.com have it,but you need manually renew with coupon every year which is kind a stupid. But atleast it's free and lifetime.

First hand experience here of 1and1 being obstructive cunts and I had to swallow the wasted time as it was a fixed price job.

Namecheap isn't free past the first year but it is still pretty cheap after the first year.

Fabulous.com if you dont want to use webair ;)

CYF 04-14-2012 12:58 PM

internet.bs is free privacy for life. Name.com has free privacy with coupon code PRiVACYPLEASE.

boziffous 04-14-2012 09:40 PM

NameSilo.com includes free WHOIS privacy, with no coupons needed. Decent prices too.

rowan 04-15-2012 03:35 AM

Shouldn't you be looking at the grand total? $10 + $2 for privacy might be cheaper than $15 with 'free' privacy....

I'm moving all of my domains over to internet.bs from namecheap. Free whois protection and clean, fast admin interface plus they are located offshore.

I've heard they are good at not suspending accounts.

They don't take Paypal though which is a pain in the arse. Also their prices for .cc and some other extensions is way higher than what I'm currently paying.

PornMD 04-15-2012 09:54 AM

Fabulous.com is probably the best of the ones that offer it completely free, BUT my experiences with them as of late haven't been as good as they used to.

they took paypal for a while and it got suspended for some reason. You can still use paypal through their other checkout methods, I think their 2CO option.

Just noticed that.

They have catch all email forwarding which I like. ResellerClubs catchalls don't work.

I just checked their renewal fees $9.35 for .coms which is higher than I'm used to paying.
