Upgrading from OS X - Snow Leopard to Lion - does everything work?

Thinking of upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion to be able to use iCloud and not have to constasntly transfer pics from phone to computer.

Do most apps work in Lion? Are there ever any issues?

Isn't mountain lion out already? If not it's coming soon...

Nonetheless, - speaking strictly from a hackintosh pov - I had no problems upgrading to Lion when I was playing around with os x.

The new OS is out soon. Might be worth waiting?

I really doubt you'll have an issue with upgrading.

Apple's main selling point is that the hardware is limited so basically anything that'll run 10.6 will run 10.7

You've got a couple of choices afaik.

a) run lion in VMWare and use the iCloud stuff there
b) plug your phone into your mac and let it sync to get the photos off
c) upgrade to Lion

Rosetta isn't installed when you install Lion, so if you have older apps be sure they'll run without it. Office 2008 wont run for example.
