Somebody's lawyer owes me money
 

For legal reasons I'm not gonna say his name, lets just say his name will be widely known in the following days. I am 99% sure it's the same lawyer I hired years ago for family law. Told me he would return my retainer if I was not happy with him. Like most lawyers as soon as he got some money from me he wouldnt answer or return calls.

Sorry to hear, but I can't stand attorneys that do this. One that I was going to work with to setup a new business wanted a huge retainer. He was a referral from a friend and when I went online, I saw numerous people complaining about over charging and not returning money.

Sucks that so many people are thieves

Same thing happened to me a year ago so I called my other lawyer. Problem solved and money was returned the next day..

why does everyone need a lawyer?

I have no less than 5 attorneys that specialize in various things.
Big retainers are for suckers. Hourly contracts FTW.
