Adult Insider Dave 04-09-2012 10:39 PM

Looks too fucking scary ><

ninavain 04-09-2012 11:03 PM

I'll let you know one thing. It doesn't have jack shit to do with a cabin in the woods

ninavain 04-09-2012 11:33 PM

rottentomatoes gives it a 93%..which is unheard of for a horror movie,,, but this is no ordinary horror movie

leg4 04-10-2012 12:23 AM

Well aren't you just way off topic..lol.. Cabin Fever is the hardest song he ever made IMO. I used to be a Wiz fan, but his music is kind of watered down and commercial now, or just played out IDK.. I do like the song with Snoop though that is getting a lot of radio play, probably the best song he will ever make.

CyberHustler 04-10-2012 02:51 AM

As his fame went up, his quality went down. But Taylor Allderdice was a nice comeback IMHO: http://www.datpiff.com/Wiz-Khalifa-T...pe.324466.html

He even did a joint on there with ya boy from Odd Future, it goes hard IMO...

John-ACWM 04-10-2012 04:21 AM

Cool, I'll give it a try!

Scott McD 04-10-2012 04:51 AM

I wanna check it out. My gf will never come with me to see movies like that though...

suesheboy 04-10-2012 05:34 AM

Putting in in DVR search now!

Choopa_Pardo 04-10-2012 08:25 AM

a 93% on Rotten tomatoes? the IS unheard of. I haven't read anything about this film, and having just viewed the trailer I am intrigued.

Am I off base thinking it's some kind of Cube-style horror film?

I think that's part of the inside joke, is that they gave it such an obvious title.

Jennifer84 04-10-2012 09:03 AM

I'm gonna see it this weekend

It's hard to explain without giving anything away..but here are some blurbs from critics

"Not since Scream has a horror movie subverted the expectations that accompany the genre to such wicked effect as The Cabin in the Woods."

"Absolutely genius movie. Totally brilliant... I don't know how anyone can possibly make a horror movie again. Cabin renders all past and future examples of the genre superfluous..."

"A fantastically-crafted debut by Goddard with so many moving parts, one would expect a far more experienced director would be necessary to pull it off."

"Look for it to thrill you, scare you and tickle you - all at the very same time. It's a wild ride - hop aboard before someone spoils it for you."

"A super-entertaining, super-slick love/hate letter to horror with a final 20 minutes that's stunningly bonkers."

"Spectacle for spectacle's sake, but infiltrated by intelligent commentary and an atmosphere of generosity and inclusion."

"Clever and inventive, the film delivers to the hard core horror fans as well as to moveigoers seeking wild fun."

smutnut 04-10-2012 12:23 PM

Does Buffy actually finally get laid?

leg4 04-25-2012 11:18 AM

Love when the final scene happens and Styx's "Roll With the Changes" plays....

Best part o' da movie.

vdbucks 04-25-2012 11:25 AM

After watching the trailer, it has too much of a "The Hunger Games" feel to it... like when everyone and their mother, uncle, sister and aunt tammy copied shit from the matrix...

smutnut 04-25-2012 11:29 AM

I just saw this yesterday. The last act is pretty cool but you have to sit through over an hour of same old, same old bullshit you see in every movie like this. Can't decide whether the final act is worth the sore ass cramps or not. It's probably worth seeing.

Better than THE HUNGER GAMES, but that's not saying much. Picture an episode of BUFFY with tons of money put into it.

rhon23 04-25-2012 11:31 AM

brilliant movie!

RobertRK 04-25-2012 11:40 AM

I recommend seeing it knowing as little about it as you possibly can...

semi spoilers

It's a great spin on the genre, and there are incredible odes to every genre of horror in there...As a movie nerd, it was pretty much geared toward throwing movie nerds a bunch of inside jokes about horror movies in general...

This is how I also feel. I don't know if I really like it and it was worth it...

Or if it was "Just Okay"

The first half hour is completely brutal. It's like being held hostage by a grade school and forced to watch the kids act like college kids with a high school mentality :1orglaugh

Ending is pretty cool though, but still not sure it balances out

bronco67 04-25-2012 01:44 PM

What a ride. I was not expecting anything like that. I would say go see it, surrender to the initial stupidity of it -- and you'll have a trip down the rabbit-hole.

CYF 04-25-2012 06:07 PM

movie was definitely different. I really liked it but the GF didn't as much.

SilentKnight 04-25-2012 06:15 PM

Should've had Tim Curry playin' the Pennywise.

TheyPullMeBackIn 04-25-2012 06:17 PM

wan't even scary ... was more funny than anything!

Ok, so its like Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil set on a holodeck?

Brujah 04-29-2012 11:15 PM

Excellent film, loved it. I can't wait to see it again!

btw, roll with the changes was REO speedwagon

2MuchMark 04-29-2012 11:55 PM

NO SPOILERS

I finally saw this movie over the weekend and loved it. It was really smart and a helluva lot of fun. I was really lucky to have skipped out on all of the previews and trailers for this movie so I didn't know a damn thing about it going into the theatre. My first WTF moment happened with the first frame, but my first "THIS IS GOING TO ROCK" moment occurred when "THE CABIN IN THE WOODS" was blasted in big giant text over the freeze frame of those 2 guys.

My GF Tracy loved it too but was really confused as to what was going on for a while, and she usually guesses the endings to movies like this. What was really cool is that she was genuinely scared out of her mind at certain parts of the movie (like the basement scene).

Anyway, if you like movies, go see it. If you like horror movies, Go see it tonight. If you like SMART movies made by movie makers who know what the F they are doing, GO NOW before some asshole ruins the movie by telling you about it first.

Weird that you say that. I thought the first half was excellent. It "looks" like stuff you've seen before but there's plenty of clues that something else is going on, and even if you missed them, the scene in the basement where one person is reading the diary, while another is playing with the puzzle, etc, just screams "not your typical movie" at you. Plus there are several clever references to The Evil Dead, the classic horror movie.

I loved it.

2intense 04-30-2012 12:21 AM

great movie ,i agree 10

Please don't do this. I said ACT III wasn't bad.

This is what sucked me into the movie theater in the first place. I know they have to make their investment back but, this shouldn't be spoken in the same breath as EVIL DEAD, or anything else Rami did for that matter (even spider-man III LOL - just kidding on this one), but really...

Comparing this to EVIL DEAD is like comparing SONS OF ANARCHY to THE SOPRANOS. Oh yeah, they try and do that too :1orglaugh

That was the point of the movie. You can't have that clever last act without establishing the cliches first.

Chosen 04-30-2012 05:21 AM

Haven't watched...

oops ok sawreee...

... but speaking of Evil Dead. Sure its a "classic" and its a fun movie, but in reality its not very good. Evil Dead #1 was especially bad. II was ok and III was a real dud. The movies are saved by some Raimi-isms of camera work and fun acting by Bruce Campbell, but thats it. It's not that scary or not that funny. Therefore anyone can compare any movie to Evil Dead, and most of the time Evil Dead would lose.

Yes I know I've just been kicked out of the horror-nerd club.

jscott 05-11-2012 04:43 AM

I just seen this movie and have to disagree

I watch a lot of movies, and this movie was a mess, terrible :(

smutnut 05-11-2012 09:52 AM

I don't think anything is actually very scary these days. Maybe the excorcist, the ring, night of the living dead at the time.

But you might want to check out VANISHING ON 7TH STREET if you like horror that messes with your mind. It's sort of like PULSE. It's more like the unknown as opposed to CLIVE BARKER rip off monsters coming after you at the end of a story.

BAKO 05-11-2012 09:58 AM

Amazing movie :-)
